I recently picked up a bottled .25 Marauder. It is an awesome gun. I may not need to do anything to it, but well.... As it sits it has a WAR hammer with that sliding magnetic piece to lock it for debounce. I did put in a new poppet and new orings ras I may have gotten some debris in it when I assembled and filled it the first time. So I have stripped and resealed it. When I got it filled it had Brazilian "Rifle Ammunition" pellets 26.38 gr and H&N Field Target Trophy 20.06 gr (hey the pickings we're slim and these got here first)
Down to the question, at one turn on the hammer tension spring I get 885fps and more only plateaus out. The Field Target Trophys go 998 and are not particularity happy at 50 yards going that fast.
Regulated air reads 2200 but gets there as bottle fill hits 1800. Previous owner said he thought the regulator was at 1800. There is some compression on the hammer spring with the adjuster backed all the way out. I'm thinking a slightly lighter spring and I could go lower power for the light pellets, but plenty of adjustment for the heavier ones. (I do have JSB kings and Hades on order) I have a bunch of spare parts 2 light hammers with captive spring arrangements, several hammer springs. Just looking for opinions.
