Monstrum prism scopes.

Hi, I'd like to hear people's thoughts on these. A couple forum members have the first version 3x and seem to like it. Anyone have the "raven" super compact? Anyone tried the marksman 3x and the original and have thoughts?

The reviews on monstrum site make it sound like the eye relief on the 5x is much shorter than the 3xs so ignoring that for the moment.

Thanks for any info!

judging from just the one i have, eye relief, easier for the eye to focus through, and a nice big sight picture is the major benefit of the style .. the drawback is the magnification, for small stuff i wouldnt want to try to use it past 40-50, but for medium size targets its no problem out to 100 or so .. going to 5x i dont see as much of a benefit unless its only going to be used for small game at further ranges and really you need a standard scope for that .. id say its prime role where it would be one of the best sights is close to mid range on medium targets that are possibly moving .. you got a nice picture on them and theyre in deep sneakers lol ..

mine is 3x, holds zero and well worth the 100 bucks. At 33 yards I can get great groups and actually see the pellet holes in the target. I put one in this rats noggin at 33yrds. The center dot can obscure the target for precise work so I use the 12 o'clock part of the dot for my point of impact. Past 50 yrds. Not so good.

Ah, nice tip on zeroing at 12 on the circle :)

*edit -- The reticle is the thing I'm liking least from my reading on them.
