Western Airguns Mordax pcp!

The GK1 shoots very consistent strings due to the self-regulating nature of the hammerless system and can maintain power and accuracy in rapid fire because it’s not hamstrung by a small plenum being refreshed slowly by a regulator.
Now what do we have here? Addition of a reg and small plenum, an increase to .30 cal and a full auto switch. Hopefully the laws of physics will provide some special accommodations

I can’t believe people haven’t heard about it yet!!
You cant believe it? lol.. look, first its a new product and second its tottaly useless product as far as im concerned. it doesnt even come close to the huben gk1 on every general considered important aspect of an airgun. yet they try sell it ALOTmore expensive ($1,879.00) then a huben gk1 which i bought for 1250usd. Just another one who tried to beat huben and failed hard, didnt even come close. a small comparison:

1. compactness/weight
a EASY win for the huben gk1. mordax is more like a rifle almost. much heavier to.

2. power
a EASY win for huben gk1. As in specs of mordax 7 shots at 45 FPE in .30 (MOD EDIT Rule #3)

3. efficiency
EASY win for the gk1. (mordax 7 shots at 45 fpe in .30 vs huben 17+ shots all above 60fpe in .25)

4. accuracy
EASY win for the gk1. (there is no accuracy at 45fpe on .30 after 100yards.. speed is to low)

at least they tried to do a remove mag , but failed. air may slip and make it louder and less efficient/accurate. it is also completely useless to have a removeable mag when it got so low efficiency and u will need refill after few shots anyway. for me this gun is at hatsan velox level, maybe evanix viper level, but not even close to huben. "the future of airguns" dont make me laugh.

I agree that the removeable mag is kinda useless with such a low shot count. Not to mention that spare mags will cost a fortune, since they're made of titanium. The only advantage I can think of is that it's a lot easier and faster to load than the GK1.

That said, I don't think the sound and "air slipthrough" will be much of an issue. The WA Sidewinder has a removeable mag too, and I've never heard anyone complain about the sound or air efficiency. The sidewinder is quite powerful too, so it doesn't seem to affect the power either.

Stop being level headed and reasonable!!!

We all know BIG AIRGUN is a scam trying to steal our money!!!

Buy what you enjoy and save the vitriol for your government guys. They are the ones that hate you, not our manufacturing friends.

I’ve had a chance this morning to send rounds, and I’m really pleased with the form and function. I don’t need the fun button to be primary use - just occasional smiles, and it certainly works for that. So much so that I’m liable to sell a few guns in my collection since it ticks all the boxes for me.

One thing I don’t love is that the stock is quite short - I will be looking to upgrade that ASAP.

Bottle clamp? Easily handled.
Sure, but how difficult would it have been to just add a pic rail to the base design? A decent bottle clamp (aka not 3D printed) is somewhere north of 50 bucks. And personally I'm not a big fan of putting clamps on my high pressure vessels.

Manufacturers should know by now that people love the option for a bipod, foregrips, lights, lasers etc. Some brands adhere to this trend, but others still don't take this into account.

Granted, it's a minor complaint, and definitely not a deal-breaker. But still worth mentioning.

I prefer a cleaner simpler design with the ability to add something, for whatever that's worth, especially with a pistol. This particular airgun though seems like it would be a good fit for one especially with the automatic fire function.

I agree with the sentiment. Especially because it’s marketed as a carbine. It’s clear I wasn’t the only one disappointed by the Mordax. I feel like a large part of this is they’ve had such a long time of the GK1 being available and seeing all the feedback and what type of things people are doing aftermarket. Maybe they’ll make a v2 that has these mods 🤷‍♂️

To be fair though I think it’s great that they added the removable mag, select fire, top pic rail, and built in support for a stock and I’m sure the people who bought one will still have a ton of fun with one. Looking forward to hearing more about it from the owners

I saw on a chart, with regulator pressure at 2,700 psi ( think it was .22 caliber) , you will get 7 shots at Max of 41 FPE. I have the GK1 V2 and that puts out over 80 FPE in .25, 42 grain for the first few shots and stays over lethality the rest of the mag at Max setting. That gun RIPS. I shoot ¹⁶ to ⅛ steel targets and put holes through them the full mag at Max. Wait for all the reviews when it comes out. Macabee speed and airgun Alley both do great reviews. If you only get 7 shots at Max regulator pressure and have to refill after that every frigging time, that's gonna leave a sour taste on PCP guns. I have a little tablet bag that I bought that I carry the GK1 in. I have about $2,000 invested with all the extras. 2, moderators, stock, new grip, rubber grip cover, fill plugs, gauge cover, holographic with laser dot attached, the tank cover with M lock, super bright light and strobe. It all fits in the bag. It's a bad ass gun and powerful. You won't get all that right away on a new gun. Make sure this new one is really worth it over the GK1. I also have the megalodon in .58 with the 22 inch barrel and the .50 in the 15" barrel. The 15" fits perfect in a back pack without the rear tank attached and definitely my favorite gun. I have the Donny FL EMPEROR moderator that didn't work on another gun but worked awesome on this one. Makes it MUCH quieter. Can fit the gun, rear tank and moderate which is as long as the gun itself in a back pack and that has a ton of ****ing power. If you've never owned a PCP gun, I'd recommend that number 1. It's a very fun gun and can be easily carried around without anyone knowing. You only need a compressor that goes to 4500 too. The Gk1 fills to 5000. I had to buy another compressor at $600 to fill it without having to man handle a hand pump for that last 500 psi. Whatever you choose though, I hope you're happy with. These are great guns but they're pricey and takes time to free money up for them. Hopefully this helps you not get a bad experience with your first gun!
How many shots do you think you can get with your gk1 at max power? I am saving up for the gk1. I will probably sell some guns in the next few months and purchase the huben. The price point is what is killing me lol. And do you think filling it to 4500 psi and then doing the rest with a hand pump will work? Thanks

Some users have reported no problem pumping up to 5000 psi with a hand pump. My vevor handpump becomes impossible before it gets to 4500 psi though, even though I weigh 180 pounds. I even tried putting on a backpack filled with heavy weights, but the plunger does not go down past about 4200 psi so don't buy a Vevor. I might have a bad one, I need to get another hand pump to verify that at some point.

Ugh so far my experience with hand pumps have been no bueno. I bought one similar to the vevor it was a 4 stage and it stopped working on me after 3 times. I think most hand pumps may just not work too well. Who knows
