Western Airguns Mordax pcp!

so how do you like the mordax? if you strip it down to just a pistol,no folding stock and open sights, how long is it? how heavy is it? would you consider it to be good for a holster? compared to the GK1?
thank you
Mark
I like it. It's super accurate. It's about the same size and maybe a little heavier. It can be holstered but not as good as the GK1 shorty.

I've already got a Sidewinder .30 that I love. I just ordered the .30 Mordax since I've already got 5 magazines, this way it will keep things simple. I'll let you folks know how it goes!

well, I have a machinist friend who actually makes them

I'm very interested in getting a a handguard like this, it looks perfect! I would like the details for getting one if they are available, please.
Edit- Oops just saw the email you posted on the previous page, I'll try that.

Now what about a carbine sized rifle format with this action? Give it more air on board, but not a big 40"+ moose like alot of pcps that claim to be a carbine.

A thumbhole stock would be nice.

They make the Sidewinder S Compact which uses the same unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean by carbine sized. Maybe if it didn't look so much like an erector set that would be cool. My full sized Sidewinder works great and is a tack driver, though, and all these rifles work with the same action. I'm looking forward to this mini version of it.

Yeah, like a rifle platform. Not a bullpup. Basically the mordax with a longer barrel and tube. In a thumbhole laminate or synthetic stock.

A boy can dream!

Yeah that would be pretty cool. They operate so well, it would be nice if they had a little better aesthetics. Luckily I find beauty in function too.

You could very easily inlet the action and cylinder into a beauty of a wood stock. It would probably quiet down the cycling next to.your ear also.

Well I got my .30 and it's pretty awesome. The pressure is set for 2 full magazines from tne shop. The open sights work great when using it as a pistol, but the stock is too short (even with the extender) to use them with it as a carbine . I'll be throwing a red dot on a riser to see if I can get on target in carbine mode. I'll post some pictures when I get all my accessories together.

Would you mind sharing the speeds and power ranges you get out of this as you test ammo in it?

Sure thing! I've only got a cheap Amazon chronograph at the moment but I'll see what kind of readings I get from it. It seems to be shooting plenty hard enought for my purposes during the little test run/ shakedown woods walk I did yesterday. I'm confident this gun is capable of killing a big turkey. I'll get some rounds out over my chronograph soon and let you know what it says.
