Kral Arms Mortal X shooting advise

Hello guys,

My name is Igor, I am new to this forum, and I am glad that I've found it. I have couple of questions that needs answering to me, as I am pretty new to air gun shooting.

I have .22 Mortal X from Kral Arms. It is zeroed to 50 yards flat line, scope that I use is Hawke Vantage 4-16x44 with side parallax adjustment. Shooting 21 grain H&M slugs.

1. When I shoot at 50 yards, as zeroed on a flat line, have no problems hitting the target, usually meta target.
2. When I shoot at 40 or 50 yards on live target, but on a 45 degrees angle, maybe even higher, I miss the target and I think that slug is going above, not sure to be honest.

So my questions are, first of all is my zero distance Ok, or should I zero it at lower range, maybe 30 yards lets say and then try to shoot on angle targets straight at center ?

And my second question is, if I keep my zero at 50 yards, should I aim lower while shooting at angle ?

Also, I have my parallax adjustment set up on 100 yards, should I play with it depending on the distance (using range finder of course).

Thank you so much for your time, any advice will be helpful.

Have a nice day all!

When shooting up or down the slug strikes higher than zero. Imagine you were shooting straight up, there is no drop. Imagine you were shooting straight down, again there is no drop. The drop is always highest, always higher whether you are shooting up or down at your target. Zero on a level and calculate the drop using strelok or similar software.
