Most accurate pellet for R9/HW95?

Just looking for some info from others' experience. My R9 is 0.177 cal. Curious from other R9/HW95 owners what they have found the most accurate pellet(s) to be. So far for the ones I've tested 1st place are the JSB RS's in 7.33gr (0.24" CTC @ 10m). Second and third place tie for H&N Match Finale 8.18gr & H&N Baracuda Field Targets 9.57gr (both 0.26" CTC @ 10m). Regards

For many of my HWs the H&N do a little better than the JSB. Such as the H&N FTs, Barracuda and Barracuda Green. Furthermore, unless you lower the factory power the pellets that are heavier than 8g tend to do better in .177.

I use the Crosmans in various types as "control group" pellets for testing, general sight-in, and introducing new shooters to airguns. In the R9 I find them mid-range for accuracy.

I'm no help in .177, but if you ever decide to add a .22 to your collection, H&N FTT 5.54 head size and AA Falcons shot the best of everything I tried in my 95 .22.

Always had really excellent luck with H&Ns from my .177 HWs. I'd try Field Targets trophies in the 4.52mm head size as a start.

OK thanks, I have a bunch of those. By happy coincidence I picked up a pelletgage from pelletgage.com this week for both .177 & .22. Will do some sorting.

No .22 cal in that gun (yet). I have a Benjamin Trail NP2 in .22 that shoots the H&N FTT quite well.

In 177 mine likes the H&N FTT, the 7.33 Falcons are just too light.
In 22 the AA Falcons are best with FTT close.

H&N FTT or JSB Exact 8.4, better yet the Air Arms variant of the 8.4 (more consistent head size and fewer damaged skirts in my experience).

I suggest the Baracuda Match .177 10.65 452's. Very good results from my HW77 and HW95.

The best pellets I've found for my 177 Hw95 is either the JSB 8.44s (or rebrands of them) or 4.52 FTTs. The results with the JSBs will fluctuate between lots. The H&Ns are a lot more consistent. Within the two pellet types, my best and worst groups were shot with the JSBs. The average H&Ns score consistently better than the JSB. A good tin of JSBs will occasionally out perform the H&Ns but it's rare. I'm more confident buying 20 tins of H&Ns than buying my usual ten tins of JSBs. Don't get me wrong the 177 JSBs are always light years better current Crosmans. They're just not bankable.

Pretty much you buy pellets , shoot them and decide whats best for you and that gun. For me my motto is " i dont mind a pellet picky gun as long as it picks cphp's." ..
If it dont it dont stick around here long..

My experience may or may not carry relevance since my R9 .177 has been Vortek'd by JT... it shoots H&N 9.57 Baracuda Match @835fps "most" consistent. H&N or AA 10gr follow close second... sorry, no CP in my soft(er) lead seasoned barrels.

Cannot help you with .177, however I do have 4 HW rifles and all 4 love the GTO Predator Pellet the best. No experience with them in a .177 might be so light they fly everywhere.

My older R9 likes H&N FTT 4.52 head size. Before that it liked the CPL in the brown box, but you can't get them anymore.

My older 95 R9 LIKED THE Trophy pellets, also the kodiak pellets, close second. Anything with a rounded head it did real well.

My HW95L .22 seems to shoot the H&N FTT 14.66 gr 5.53 mm pellets best. Here is 5 at 25 from a table with Caldwell bags. My average is about 17 FPE after an ARH kit with Vortek seal & 7K shots.
