Most reliable compressor to direct fill a 480cc bottle gun

Top budget-friendly compressors among members is Yong Heng and GX-CS series. GX-CS4 platform, with internal water cooling, seems most popular. Yong Heng has established long-term reliability while GX-CS, as a newer arrival, awaits long-term evaluation. Search "Yong Heng," or "GX-CS," in archives, upper right page corner, for more information. WM

personally I have a Omega trail charger and it's been great so far..8 years..
also like others said GX compressor..
there's also the JTS on the front page and it looks similar too..
I can only recommend the Omega trail charger since it is all I have experience with.. but a lot of members say that the GX is good..I don't know but as similar as some of them look, just makes you wonder if they are made by the same factory and just ordered by different companies with their own name on it..

I got 3.5 years of strong & reliable service from my 1st Yong Heng filling (actually topping off) SCBA tanks ONLY. Never filled a rifle bottle. When it died I got a FULL refund because of the 4 year extended warranty (I'm so glad I bought). Essentially 3.5 years of air independence for $40 (cost of insurance). I immediately bought a new YH which is more robust & faster than my 1st so far. It's a no brainer imho. Filling gun bottles only I'd think you'd get a longer service record.

Where did you get yours and the warranty? I always wonder what you do when these compressors need repair.

Personally a YH seems like it'd be a bit o a PITA for just filling a gun. Not that I haven't done it.

Something more discreet that doesn't require hearing protection....like the GX or a Hill would be more pleasant to use and just as reliable.
I agree but if your GX fails how does one get warranty repairs done?

....not sure. Mine hasn't failed (yet) knocks on wood

I have had one YH failure so far w less than 5 hours of operation. Hairline crack in the crank case which I plan on repairing someday. I like the compressor too for all it's shortcomings. It's fast and I don't feel too bad about running it, since it's relatively cheap.

I suppose you handle a GX issue as you would any other brand depending on who you purchased it thru.

Bought from Amazon. Seller was "Topdeep". I verified with seller before buying that it was AUTHENTIC Yong Heng & it is. Model # 30QB-SD (newer mod. #). 8 months in & oil is still crystal clear & it's run flawlessly! Extended warranty offered with it & I again purchased it.

AUTHENTIC Yong Hengs, built by YongyIheng Pneumatic Company, are supported with readily available (eBay, AliExpress), quality OEM repair parts, reasonably priced. Several "how-to" repair videos by Sambo Cotton and Air Velocity Sport, via YouTube, provide easy-to-follow instructions. Many Yong Heng clones exist, suspect likely reason for reports of early failures. Like Kleenex became a name for facial tissue, regardless if made by the Kleenex Company, or not, Yong Heng has become a generic term for similar appearing compressors. Authentic Yong Hengs will have YongyIheng Pneumatic Company on metal ID compressor plate (picture). WM

This has been my experience
I don't mind using the YH, it's just that it's more of a commitment to fire up and I need to be in the proper mindset for all the noise and constant attention that it requires. Definately not "Chill & Fill"

The Hill and GX4 are both so much more pleasant to use for direct fill. The auto shut-off feature on the Hill is reliable so walking away isn't a big deal. Try that w a YH.
