Move over big dogs, the little Atomic XR is moving in...

💥KA-BOOM!💥 The Atomic XR in mini carbine form just blew the rest of my PCPs out of the safe. It's a perfect little rig for 99% of what I do with an airgun. Which is sub 50 yards pesting, plinking and target shooting. The seeming trend is towards more power, heavier projectiles🐌🐌, and longer ranges (100+ yards). So it can be easy to overlook this little gem as being underpowered for the price. If power is your focus then you might be right. But consider the 💪robustness💪 of the platform, the 🍰sweet🍰 form factor and it's real world🌚🌞⛈🌧🌩 ability. 18-20 FPE at the top end is plenty for small 🐀pests🐿out to 50 yards or more.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Brocock PCPs, both of mine have been bomber through years of usage. Initially I balked at the price of the Atomic XR, but knew it was a matter of time before I would have one. Particularly after watching Dana torture an Atomic XR that still performed at the end of his severe tests. But then an unexpected and exciting opportunity was presented to me! Airguns of Arizona offered me an Atomic XR🙀! My intent for the Atomic XR is simple, to use it, "as is, out the box"... Then when my clubs' Junior Sportsmen Program starts in mid-April. I'll be putting it into the hands of as many kids as possible🤓. The proportions of the chassis and adjustability of the stock are going to make it simple to fit each kid. Am excited to have the youngsters shooting groups and posting them up.

I am not a reviewer and will continue to post as I always have, from a users' long term perspective. The Atomic XR has already been reviewed thoroughly by professionals. This is how my Atomic XR currently rolls... DonnyFl Tanto, Aztec Emerald FFP off my Compatto and an Accu-Tac BR4 G2. I will eventually run a smaller scope and bipod.

@gendoc, from the printout that came with the Atomic XR, Hi 728, Lo 722, Avg. 725 fps. Just shot a dime size group with it at 40 yards. Sighted in for 25 yards, 3 MOA of holdover for 40 yards. Hits on black walnut husks and half wine corks from 25 to 50 yards. That Brococks are accurate is a given. What is simply amazing me with this one is how robust it is, Glock rugged if you will.

@grackleblast, that's a sweet, sweet huckleberry...

@redtick, yes it's a .22. While it may only put out 20 FPE. The platform itself is simply awesome in how rugged it is. Watch Dana's torture test of one. It's proves the point in real time video. His channel is MountainSport Airguns.

Actually “only” 20 FPE is why I want it. I have higher powered guns in .25 and .30, but want a lower powered gun for a number of situations where the higher power is not preferable or even acceptable. The small frame, accuracy, and lower power all add up to the perfect gun for those lower power situations. I had a great idea though after you have shot the gun some and let the kids shoot it some you can sell it to me for 1/2 price 🤣.

I'm sorry, but no - I am not sold by this thread or Ron's. It is still an overpriced airgun for what you get. There are many better options for less price if you are looking for a short carbine or bullpup and as a pistol it may only be good for PFT. It's a gun that doesn't know what it really wants to be and shows in the package. It's certainly not a pistol i would ever want to own or shoot. And as a carbine I know I can get more for less - and that doesn't mean more power, just more package. I'll take an Uragan Compact any day over this offering. Better magazine, better barrel, more solid tight platform, better trigger, better shot count, shall I continue?

This package is worth $1100 maybe $1200, but no more than that.

@ctshooter, no on no one is trying to sell you anything in this thread. Until you hold one in your hands, your criteria for saying its overpriced is just hearsay. Do you believe the guns you mention could survive the same torture test Dana put the Atomic through? I don't think so. And again I'm not selling you anything.

But you are going to sell me your Atomic in a few months correct?

@wr250r, it's a pistol to a small minority, myself? I like and will use it as a mini carbine. I thought it was overpriced too, thought as in past tense. I don't believe your big little dog would be as rugged as the Atomic dog under hard long term use. But I like all kinds of dogs, so it all good.

@redtick12, Are you trying to play Jedi Mind Games😀. How about a firm no, no, no?
