Moving Benjamin Marauder barrel

I recently purchased a Benjamin Marauder .22, but the barrel support (not sure what the correct terminology is) does not fit tightly around the barrel, and the barrel can move a little bit. Is this normal, and if not, what should I do? Here's a video of it:

That’s how those Marauder band are design. I’ve used 2 orings to center the shroud with the band.

The Marauder has a floating barrel and shroud, so there will be a gap between the barrel band and shroud. Most of the time this isn't a problem unless you apply pressure to the shroud while shooting, which will cause POI shifts. Some people will fill the gap with an o-ring or hobby foam so the shroud can't move. It's also a good idea not to lean the gun against a wall or similar surface that will apply pressure to the shroud. You will notice many airgun manufacturers use floating barrel systems and often don't even have a barrel band at all. One thing I've noticed on my Marauder is the accuracy seems to be best if I don't screw the shroud tight to the breach but leave it about one thread lose, it seems to affect the harmonics of the barrel causing groups to open up somewhat.

Just curious; is there a reason for the free floating barrel?

It is a given fact that most platforms are more accurate with a free floated barrel. I use my Marauder for Field Target, and have found that the shroud tends to torque the barrel. If the barrel is torqued, and temperature increases/decreases, you can have a POI shift, and you usually do. I removed my shroud completely, eliminating the problem, as noise is not a factor in my competitive world. As long as the projectile goes where I want it, I couldn't care if it sounds like a cannon. I also left the barrel band to help protect the barrel from being bumped, but down the road, added a piece of PVC tubing to protect the barrel completely. If I can find it, I'll post a picture of my barrel shield.
