AirMaks Arms "Mr. Stubby"

How old is your katran? I found a great deal on a used compact. It’s an older version(uses degass tool) so I was a little nervous. Heard all those reg and magazine issues early on. Seems they got it all sorted out in the last year.

Thanks
Rob
Mine is a 2024 Katran SC from Balistas with the folding stock instead of the removable.
I had read about the early ones mine is a no issue gun.
They definitely need a tune out of the box.
Too much wasted air and loud.
As others have said in the past, the factory tune leaves a lot to be desired.

Brass sleeve in the Transfer Port and tighten the valve spring all the way in (as taught by Weevil)
make a huge difference. My Katran had the reg set too low and I set mine at 82 bar for low power use.

Great Guns, loads of fun.

Thanks for feedback. Utahs Airmaks deals are so tempting. I just can’t decide which I like the best. My buddy has two kraits(one is a lite) and is very happy. He also said the katran is nice. Actually said the shorter katrans handle a little nicer.
Soo many nice airguns. Great time to be in the hobby 🤘

Take care
Rob

Hey Rob,

I look at it this way.
If you want a bullpup get the Krait,
If you want a folder or pistol get the Katran SC.
The FOLDER katran SC is not available at UA from what I have seen but is available at Edguns West and Balistas. I got mine from Balistas.

The lockup on the folding stock is tighter than my Saber Tactical for my crown once I set the grub screw on the Katran.
