It was cold. I arrived at 7am to set up the sight in range with my dash reading 30f, overcast skies and ripping winds. Matt Sawyer arrived a bit later and we got to work. An hour or so later 5 shooters showed up and we got things underway.

During sight in the pellets were getting slapped around with seemingly no correlation to what our windflags, or teltales in the field indicated. Once everyones fingers were too numb to keep shooting we broke down the sight in range, had a short shooters meeting and started the match.

What a frustrating match it was. The wind was switching, gusty and ever present. Much like during sight in there was no way to get a feel for it. More often than not the hold for your first shot wasn't even close to you needed for the second.

The conditions improved shortly after the match began with winds from 6-10mph, partly cloudy skies and a whole 38f by match end. With many grunts, groans, exclamations of wonder and dissatisfaction we got through the match more or less intact.

Thanks for the write up John , it as quite a day. The cold was one thing but the swirling winds made it difficult to pick a hold, it was definitely my Achilles Heel. Congratulations to Leo for the match high score, well done! I believe everyone had a fun dispite the additional challenges the day provided. Thank you to Jeff Brooks, Mr. Bennett, Corey Keehn and Jim Kane for coming out and making it a real match as well as helping wrap ip the strings its a big help and really appreciated. Also extra thanks to John and Leo for making a 2 hour ride to come shoot and have some fun and frustrations. Thanks guys looking forward tobtye next one!
