Mrodair M10

Mrodair ran a sale (still might be on sale now) on the Mrodair M10 air rifles last week and couldn't help myself. For $269 delivered how could one not resist the urge of a high FPE .22 that they also threw in a sear that's changes it to a 2 stage trigger and also a transfer port to drop the power to the 900s with 14.3 Crosman premiers.

Here's a little teaser. Not even going to lie I'm very impressed with it just taking it out of the box. The fit and finish is very very nice better than any disco or maximus I've had and the cocking bolt is just massive and smooth to operate and not difficult at all. Shot a few shots over chrony on a full fill and was around 35fpe. Got plenty of pellets to test with that I hope on testing later tonight both tuning and accuracy. Oh and I forgot it's pretty dang quiet! The stock LDC works very good! Got a pretty good ping to It though but not a problem to me

Well I mounted my Centerpoint 6x40 scope on it and decided to clean the barrel up and test some pellets. Was hoping the JSB monsters were going to do good but sadly over a 1" shot group. Decided OK I'll just try the H&N barracudas...Wow a 5 shot group right a 1/4" at 25yds even with the terrible stock trigger! Ok im getting excited now! Gonna run a shot string now

Lol I must have filled to 3000psi when I first did it instead of 200bar...Well here's a shot string capable of 45fpe with 21gr pellets! I'll cut down the string to show within 4%

Thanks! I'm very impressed with this rifle. I've owned quite a few rifles ranging from high end American made airguns from WAR and RAW to Benjamin discovery and maximus and alot in between. For the money I've seen worse fit and finish on crosman comparable in price and Hatsan airguns costing more. I plan on taking it out to 50 yds today and if I can keep them within a quarter I'll be very very happy

Yeah I was downsizing also...Also said I didn't want another.22 PCP...But hey being this powerful of a gun plus knowing that rebarreling isn't hard just couldn't help myself.

Shot at 25 yds again and I guess I should've leaded up the barrel before saying the monsters weren't good. 5 shots each left is barracudas right is monsters. A variable breeze coming from North East and my shooting area faces east I'm assuming caused the lower shot on the Monsters

I tuned my QB HPA conversion to shoot as hot as possible and the .22 Beast shot extremely well to 40yd. For whatever reason, Monsters shoot decent but not quite as well. Ive yet to measure the twist rate, but consider that a potential reason along with velocity for it success or lack there of, so who knows. Not much been done, hence my reason for getting this. Would love to get a barrel to shoot these. Im finishing a .224 conversion with a 1:14" and is suspected to shoot 37gr well, slightly longer than the beast .22.

"NMshooter"Dairyboy, I believe this is your fourth rife since the fall, LOL. You have the fever bad my friend! Looks you are having some fun!!!! Wonder if this is like the P12 where it can be converted to multi-shot. It's definitely a handsome rifle. Looks like an old Logan or Falcon.
At least he rotates rifles. I seem to get them and hold onto them and add more :(

Got mine today and added some air for a few shots. As I mentioned, Im interested in heavy projectiles for this. Im with Dairyboy, I was rather impressed. Based on some other reviews, I thought this was going to be huge, so when I saw the box delivered from UPS, I was a little disappointed as I thought Mrodair made a mistake. Nope, all is good. I like the action very much, having been wanting a rear bolt since getting into this. Shot others, but cutting to the chase of my preferred JSB 34gr. Mind you, it was 15mph+ winds and with windchill not in the sun, about zero degF. My trigger finger was literally numb by the last few shots. We got 30in of snow yesterday, so my longer range is going to have to wait, but to 35yd, was very impressed. On about 2800psi started off at 697fps, then to 707........after about 6 shots, it was grouping pretty well and at 760fps. I changed my POA, which took me off the chrony but here is a 12 shot group. My finger nail is 0.5in long. Cant wait to do more.

I threatened to wait two weeks until he got tired of it and buy it then. :) :)

Bought my own anyway, should be here Friday.

I'm curious to see what kind of tune you settle on Dairyboy.. I'm hoping to get mine settled in as much as possible at 30-35fpe. We will see how that goes. :)

Lol Doc I lose track I know but like blackdiesel said I also sell mine to fund the others. Right now just have the RAW .30 (never leaving my hands) and this M10. May or may not have picked up a used .25 Regal XL that I'll get on Friday... :) Then I'll be saving up for a .25 Mutant Veteran! I got it so bad....

Prouzy I'm glad you got yours and are impressed! I'm still waiting on my order of Beasts (backordered) but I'm happy with the monsters so far.

mobilemail mines shooting right around 43-45 fpe for 25 tight shots and I think I'm going to keep it there. Something about a high FPE .22 just makes me giggle :)

Wow. I had no idea. I thought they were 700 to 800 fps. Isn't this the same as PR900 Artemis?

Do you have a link for this gun?
I looked on Mrodair site & didn't see it.

What is the weight & length?

Is it hard to mount a scope? Is there enough rail?

That's an outstanding price and looks like it came with SLRS.

I've been contemplating the P12, but it's more expensive. My guess is that it is similar in power. Mike said the P12 adjusts from 700 to 980 fps.

Zombie thread!
A bunch of folks (me included) bought these rifles from mrodair on a closeout deal, but they are no longer selling this particular model as far as I know.

The "Mrodair" M10 is actually just a rebranded Snowpeak (or "SPA") M10, and that rifle is still available in various configurations from Euro dealers like Krale and Aceros de Hispania. I have never dealt with the latter, but I have dealt with Krale and can recommend them highly. https://www.krale-schietsport.nl/en/guns/air-rifles.html?manufacturer=3152&powersource=3374&productstatus=313

As for your specific questions:
I sold mine, so I can't comment to the length or weight.
It does have an 11mm dovetail scope rail, as I recall it ran the length of the receiver.
I have no idea what an SLRS is.

The SnowPeak guns are developing quite a following. In fact, Diana is now rebranding a SnowPeak PCP and selling it as the "Stormrider".

Thanks

unfortunately, on the Krale site, it doesn't seem to come with the perks that yours did nor the magazine.

You mentioned getting a transfer port to drop the power to the 900s with 14.3 Crosman premiers. Does that act, or is that a Regulator?

I was just at mrodair and like the looks of the Dominator: 5lbs; 37"; Enhanced silencer; side lever multishot....$489 w/2 mags. I wonder if it has some kind of power adjuster. They never have much info on their site. I can't find info on the Krale or SPA sites.
For about the same price, I can get the P12 + Silencer (SLRS). This one allows adjustement from 700 to 980 fps in .22.
Can anybody help me determine the differences beside the weight & size? I want to buy one of these two guns, but comparing them has become quite the task.

At one point I read a old (2014) blog from Wingman about the P 12. He got consistent 900 fps with Huma regulator, but mrodair doesn't seem to be suggesting to go that way. It does have a Depinger. Perhaps they have figured that it is a better way to go. Does anyone know?
It's hard to get detailed answers from Mike.
Prior to this message, they told me this:
"The P-12 is externally adjustable from about 700 fps to 980 with the light spring and to over 1100 with the heavy spring. (Both included)"

Here's today's conversation with Mike at mrodair:

My questions to Mike:.
Thanks Michael. I like the idea of the P12 with Bare Stock 1) Will it already have the Depinger in it? 2) Regulated or Unregulated? 2) I know it can be adjusted from 700 to 980 with the light spring. What is the range of adjustment with the heavy spring? 3) Lastly, What's the total price with the SLRS? Thanks, Tom

Mikes Response:"You can request a bre stock in the comments section of the order at no extra charge." "All P-12 from Mrodair have the depinger." "We only include the heavy spring for those who want to build big bores." "Our webstore has current pricing on the package deal with the SLRS" ThanksWe Are Mrodair "Stay Tuned" Michael Esch

No clarification on Regulated or not. Also not the first time he's dodged this question. If I press, he doesn't respond.

Also, no clarity on the Spring set up. I'm still wondering which spring it comes with that allows the adjustment from 700 to 980 fps. based on their previous answer that it comes with 2 springs + factory spring.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Hoop -
I'm afraid I can't answer question about the other SPA/Mrodair guns, the M10 is the only one I have owned.

Back to your M10 questions:
The M10 Mrodair sold was not regulated, and it was a single shot. it did not have a magazine, nor did it have a breech that would accept a magazine. It did come with two interchangeable transfer ports. It did not come with a "SLRS", the buyer had to add that on separately.

A transfer port and a regulator are completely different items.
A transfer port is used in PCP/CO2 guns to pass the air from the storage reservoir into the barrel. Whether a transfer port is accessible and/or modifiable is just a part of the rifle's design, and can vary from rifle to rifle. The M10 Transfer port is apples and oranges different from a Benjamin Marauder transfer port.

A regulator is installed between the air reservoir and the transfer port. It takes the air of variable pressure from the storage reservoir and sends it to a smaller storage area, commonly referred to as a plenum, where the air pressure remains at a very consistent pressure. This makes every shot the gun makes almost exactly the same velocity until the storage reservoir pressure drops to and below the plenum set pressure.
A regulator adds consistency, but it also adds complexity and takes a bit to set up correctly. You don't just stick a reg in and it works. If a PCP is balanced well where it has a majority of its shots within a reasonably flat shot string, a regulator may not be needed for the shooter's intended purpose. I have some regulated rifles, some unregulated. Also, regulators are typically a tradeoff between max power and shot count. If you want all the power you can get, a regulator is not your answer.

Back to the M10. Huma makes a regulator to go into the M10, and it could definitely benefit from a regulator for max consistent shot count, at 35-ish fpe if memory serves correctly.

And finally, there is a LOT of chatter about the SPA guns on the Gateway To Airguns forum. I don't mean to diminish this fine forum in any way, it's just there is more talk about those guns at this time.
