MTC Optics SWAT PRISMATIC 12 x 50 ? is it worth the money?

I had a Sig Sauer Romeo7 + Juliet6 combo but the magnifier alignment broke, I send it in for warranty service but after 7 month of waiting Sig wasn't able to deliver, so I ended with a full refund for the entire package and keep the red dot. Finding just any magnifier that can work with Sig optical centerline these days need a lot much luck.

Researching now the prismatic scopes with integrated power levels, for my FX Impact MK2PP.

I would like to start playing silhouettes 20-100. Too much clicking with my X50.

This MTC 12x50 looks like a good candidate with a wide field of view but is short eye relive (for the Impact rail) and also I don't know about optical qualities. The pricetag is pretty high ...is it wort it?

I have the 10x30 MTC Atom and paid $569.99 to my door from AOA. This was my first scope like this and I had trouble getting the eye relief correct. It has to literally sit next to your eye. Once I had it "somewhat" good I for the most part liked the turrets and glass, but still felt it was overpriced. I ended up getting a US Optics TS12 and putting that on the same rifle. I go back and forth with the optics and I would say I am 50/50 with the scope options on my compact. Obviously you can't film using the MTC also, but not everyone does that. I still have issues while shouldering in the off hand position after acquiring an animal. I can't get the sight picture right away like I can on a normal scope like the TS-12. I always have to wiggle my face around just a little to get it before recapturing the animal and taking a shot. I do really like the MTC adjustable base however. I am able to set my own MOA adjustment for more elevation in my scope just like the FX or Eagle Vision adjustable rings. It works pretty well.

Just some personal experience with this type of optic and the brand. I would say I would be totally happy if I had paid more like $469.99 than $569.99. BUT there is good news. I have a discount for you. If you are willing to wait for a little longer shipping you can save a lot of money ordering directly through MTC. I wish I had this information when I bought.

I have a large scope a Falcon X50, 10x50-60 and I don't need an another tube variable power scope.

I am looking for a compact prism scope with some magnification.

And I promised myself not gonna buy anything from US I lost my tolerance dealing with ITAR bs shipping across the border....just not worth it.

What I have the eotech holo sight would work perfect but I would like to have some magnification for it. Not worth to invest that direction but to get a new prism sight.

Hello I had one for a short time last year and sold it to one of the forum members here, it was a very nice optic for what it was.

Pros: compact, clear, great field of view, adjustable parallax, illuminated reticle, multi point mil reticle, multi mounts, fixed power( I really prefer a fix power)

Cons: very short eye relief

I do a lot of shooting with red dots and both eyes open even on my magnified optics, and as a personal preference I found the very short eye relief to uncomfortable. Could I trained myself to overcome that, yes, but I am very happy with my current shooting style and not interested in changing. Hope this helps you If you have any specific questions please ask Eric

Yes guys thanks for the input, helps a lot.

Me as well like the red dot way better for short distance games off hand shooting up to 50, no brainer for paralax and free floating eye relieve. Even a holographic sight is faster then a tube scope.

What other prism scopes may be wort to consider? As we know we don't want to move a posture to the scope but a scope must fit the style

Hello again on my FWB 700(My eyes don't like 10m sights) I have a Vortex Spitfire 3x. Very clear glass, light, very good eye relief, and very small, but thats why i bought it to clear the loading gate arm. I only shoot this gun out to 25 yds due to lower velocity but I am very happy with it. Just took it outside and scoped my range out to 45 yds very clear and on a gun with a higher velocity like my RTI priest I think the optics would work very well. They do make a 5x but I have never used one. Also Burris make a 3x I have on another gun but this little Vortex is much smaller, lighter and clearer. Well I hope this helps any other questions just ask Eric.

What rifle you talking about? I have a Falcon X50 mounted higher on my Impact PP and is working perfect from a bench, I did not tried it tracking running games off hand.

I am looking for a prism scope because I never had one (I can talk about red dots and holographic sights yes) and I would use it for silhouettes...I guess...or not, will see.

I reversed my pic rail to get it to line up comfortably. But, it’s working pretty well for me. Nice glass and relatively lightweight.

I am sorry for the late reply. Work is so busy right now. It’s the Lelya 2 in 25 cal. Because the optic is just magnified crosshairs it works pretty well once your eye is lined up. Overall we are talking in less than a second of time usually. Target reacquiring wasn’t so much a con but just observation to pass on from my experience.

During lunchtime I walked to one of the gunstores around a corner.

They show me a Vortex Spitfire HD gen 2 prism scope in 3x power. I don't like that reticle.

Oh? I was looking at it too. The BDC reticle is useless for Airguns obviously but I like the center of the reticle. Anything else you like or dislike about it?

I just feel that ballistic reticle looks incomplete not enough range to compensate with airgun... and bold thick lines will cover things

Kind a like the MTC reticle more

Edit: I just wanted to make an order and Canada is again not on the list they would ship. Anybody across the pond would be interested to help me with the mailing?
