Here you goGuess not. Just checked and their is NO parts manual available at crosman for a 362![]()
So a stock 362 at recommended 8 pumps does about 650 fps with 14.3So, dumb question. For those of you who own and have used a 362 for hunting, what kind of FPS or FPE do you get with a factory stock gun using 14.3 pellets and 10 pumps?
Thanks
Ray
That is cool.So a stock 362 at recommended 8 pumps does about 650 fps with 14.3
With larger volume, hot rod valve mods, adjustable piston and the same barrel will yield about 60 fps more. Add a24 inch barrel and you may be looking at almost 100 fps total gain. Another forum member did those mods and with the stock barrel yielded 850 fps with 14 pumps with 14.3.
Larger valve volume requires/ allows you to over pump.
Is the 362 harder or easier to pump than a stock 392 ?The 362 is in serious need of valve volume and has the pump sweep to utilize it.
The 362 is way easier to pump given the shorter pump stroke and smaller tube diameter. Is the 362 harder or easier to pump than a stock 392 ?

If its using the 392 pump lever it should be pretty stout. Looks like the 362 could be tuned up for way more power. The 362 is way easier to pump given the shorter pump stroke and smaller tube diameter.
The 392 has huge potential as some other members made over 30fpe with mods. However it's harder to pump. The 362 actually uses the 392 pump arm but you can see it's moded for a shorter stroke.View attachment 551003
Yes, my thoughts exactly. Where the 13xx 21xx builds have the week point being the pump arm pivot hole, the 362 would be the front mounting (tube) pivot hole but that might be fixed with a pump support insert that gives it a second anchor. If it stays a pump cup that would be it's fail safe, however if it goes flat top piston, adjustment would be crucial. My 14xx build is a flat top. I once built a 1322 with a 2100 pump tube and flat top piston and it made 640fps on 12 pumps. Didn't adjust the piston right and messed up the front mounting tube hole.If its using the 392 pump lever it should be pretty stout. Looks like the 362 could be tuned up for way more power.

Is that a 362 build? I really like the looks of a modified crosman. Would this be considered a carbine? Will be using my 1425 for rabbits. I don't know it's velocity but it certainly hits the targets with authority. Was originally an acp but was not consistent so swapped to pump and dump. Will be chronographed before use. Stacks 27.5's at 20 yards with 10 pumps and dumps all the air. Also has large valve volume. View attachment 551198
I guess so. It's a modified crosman 140. I was just testing it and something went bonkers inside it. Was shooting 27.5 @ 509 fps. Need more hammer spring. Is that a 362 build? I really like the looks of a modified crosman. Would this be considered a carbine?

So a 140 pump tube is identical to a 362 tube?I guess so. It's a modified crosman 140. I was just testing it and something went bonkers inside it. Was shooting 27.5 @ 509 fps. Need more hammer spring.
Sounds like it will work to drill that hole marked red.So I have this old broken crosman legacy 1000 which is just a updated 2100 pumper. I took out the pump tube and piston assembly today, got to tinkering with it and figured out how to put a factory size 1377 valve into it. Had to drill a relocated exhaust port hole and the hole for the front grip screw and still need to drill the front tiny 4-40 breech screw and thread it. My next task is how to shorten the factory piston to fit now that the slightly longer 1377 valve is in the gun. Would it be easier to figure out how long it has to be to bottom out against the front of the valve and drill a new pivot pin hole in the pump lever and cut off the excess so it will go back into the end of the piston without binding? I'm looking for suggestions. Will moving the pivot hole make the gun harder or easier to pump? I can't wrap my math around that. I'm including pics, in one I tried to lay the piston beside the pump tube so you can see how much it needs to be shortened for it to fit. The other pic shows where and or how I may shorten the lever.View attachment 551832View attachment 551833
