Muzzle Energy Calculators – the way they are supposed to be!

I use the muzzle energy calculator in ChairGun Mobile very frequently. However, it takes 4 taps just to get to the data entry screen, it's slow to start up, and ChairGun has been discontinued by Hawke.
So, I went looking for an improvement, or at least a replacement.
Very hard to find.... 


But in the end, I found Bullet Energy Calculator Pro – and it does more than I asked for!

That's cool. I just do it in my calculator app. Fps²*grains/450240.

Need to download and install an app to use. Why not just go on prymaid air site. They have their own calculator to give you the engery. All you do is enter your pellet weight and speed and it will give you the engery. No download, no ads.

Sure, when I'm at the computer I have several options.

But on the range, in the woods, or when reading a post on my phone I usually don't have the computer close by and running. And the app gives me the info on a separate screen I can come back to any time.



I find it very convenient to have this info readily in my pocket. So I thought I share this for others that feel the same.

I'm just an old fart and set in my ways, I guess. Here is my thinking. The air rifle with which I would choose to hunt shoots the 18 JSB very well. I've killed a ton of squirrels with it in a pesting situation, and I would not hesitate to carry it in the woods hunting. It's shooting at 900 fps, so I guess around 30 fpe. I know it's trajectory from the range, and from shooting my favorite beer bottle caps at all reasonable distances. So, what would this calculator do for me?

no, you're NOT an old fart...!



You just concentrate on other things in airgunning — like honing your excellent shooting skills (and liberating us from a pile of pests...! ). More power to you!





I do these calculations often...., when:

▪when I check out a gun that I'm interested in — I want to know what muzzle energy it produces so I can compare it with other guns.

▪when I want to know how low I can go on the pellet/slug weights with a certain tune before the projectiles go transsonic/ supersonic.

▪when I want to better understand the tests, tunes, and posts of other airgunners that often only report either FPE or fps.

▪when I want to know how much I have to tune my gun up to shoot a certain heavy projectile.

▪when I want to understand the posts of airgunners that use unites of measurers other than those I'm accustomed to.

▪etc.





I you don't need to have any of those questions to enjoy airgunning to the fullest!

Try strelok, it will even give you down range FPE.

I use Strelok Pro all the time, in fact, I think it's the best mobile ballistic calculator around for airgunning! But for quick muzzle energy calculations Bullet Energy Calculator Pro is much more convenient.
