My $0.02 on MOA claims without pictures.

I agree, post up pictures of those groups. There are shooters who are capable of doing so. I’ve only shot two 5 shot MOA groups at 100 yards. Both sending JSB 18s out of my Bantam Sniper HR. Both were under ideal conditions (no wind). I did post up pictures, but those groups are not the norm. 1.5 - 2” 5 shot groups were the norm.

😱

Even if pics are posted how would you know the actual distance of the shots taken? If one is incline to lie about the gun's accuracy, he could shoot groups at 15 yards and then claim they were done at 150 yards.

I always laugh at the insert -- purporting to indicate the gun's performance -- included with new airgun purchases.😁

I think I have a feel for authentic shot-groups. And I do enjoy seeing the pictures of these groups and reading genuine stories of exceptional airgun accuracy.

Dumb...

Pictures can "easily..." be faked..! A picture of five rounds in a dime size...being stated that they were done ay xxx yards...mean about as much as no picture at all..!

Yea, I'm skeptical, of a lot of claims people come up with. Pictures can prove many things, but not this. Possibly only a good, (multi) camera video would work to prove shooting excellence.

That’s where honesty and integrity come in... Yes you can shoot some stellar groups at 20-30 yards. Post up and say it they were shot at 100 yards in a 15 mph crosswind. You would just be lying to yourself and what’s the prize or gain... virtual “pats on the back”!? We all know some PCPs shoot incredibly within their ranges. But throw in the wind and shooting/grouping (.17 and .22) at 50 yards becomes quite challenging. New gun purchaser? I give them a pass on exaggerated claims many are justifiably excited. I look for subsequent posts by same people on the same PCP.

I enjoy looking at good groups people have shot. They also usually represent their best efforts. There’s always a few in every bunch, but I would believe that the vast majority of the groups on this site are real.

That said, if I can’t see a picture of it it never happened. So if you’re gonna tell me about your great group why not post a picture of it with a coin next to it so I can see it?

some will tell you that the coin always covers the flyer in the group. So move the coin away a couple inches.

When you shoot a great group, you should enjoy it and revel in it. It doesn’t happen all the time.

I don't post any groups unless I have video (scope cam) footage. I've had people claim there guns are MOA at 100y, when I shot them they did not even compare to my 1.5 MOA guns with 5 shot groups. There is not way anyone can fake scope came footage. You can tell the distance by the scope cross hairs and see the ammo in flight. Only way a person can fake it is hire a movie production company.

I post groups once in a while not because I want a virtual pat on the back but because I'm proud of what I accomplished. If I have a flyer, I include it. 99% of the time its not the gun or pellet its me. I'm not the greatest shooter so when I get nice groupings I take a photo and sometimes I share it. I think most people are honest but yes some of 100 yard groups can make me go hmmmm. I don't even have a gun meant for 100 yds so you won't see any from me. At least not at this point in time.

I always get a kick out of the good group but not all touching with the added claim that there was a 5-10mph crosswind. I shoot daily, when I have a 5-10mph crosswind, I don’t even waste pellets or slugs at 100 if I’m trying to shoot an impressive group. Without a constant consistent wind blowing like a fan, variable crosswind groups are more about lucky guesses.

@B.Guns, being proud of ones’ shooting accomplishments is alright with me. I believe when shooters go through the effort of posting up their group/groups. It’s because they are genuinely happy, proud of the achievement. That a very, very small minority might lie, or distort their presentation does not enter into equation. When I got my first quality PCP I was upset I couldn’t shoot dime size groups at 40 and 50 yards. The gun was capable, the shooter not so much. I use to be happy with one dime size 5 shot group. Now I shoot a minimum of 4, five shot groups and sometimes I post up warts and all. My PCP regularly under good conditions shoots MOA and sometimes sub MOA at 50 yards. Is that a big deal? No, many other shooters here do the same or better. Who am I to remotely question their sincerity?

I know how you feel. My main PCP can get dime sized groups at 30-50 yards but the shooter can't always do it..Namely me.😁

This drives me crazy and agree, in the age of technology it's almost inexcusable. Almost any scopecam can show some truth over a picture. I see plenty of videos making incredible shots but can't shoot worth a poop in person. Few years ago I had one of these clowns next to me at the bench..This "Pro" couldn't even hit his own target at 75 yards.

Can you explain how an "authentic shot-group" "feels" to you. Hard concept to grasp that one can "tell" that such is true.
