My Benji Akela Thread!

She arrived today. Keep in mind I am a rank newbie to PCP and have only been in this hobby for a little more than a month. All I have to say at this point is she's a stout girl! Wood is great, not the best walnut I've seen but I like it at first glance. Gonna mount up a Bug Buster I have waiting for a home and maybe mount the pic rail and a bipod. We have rain on the way so I may not get any shooting in today. Came with maybe 2800psi.

Stay tuned...

Walmart carries a large rifle case. I have both the Puncher Breaker and the freakishly large Knight in that case, with a 50mm scope on high rails. Your case will be too long, but it is tall enough for the scope. Flambeau brand.

You need to get that gun out more. What is it, a safe queen? Doesn't even look broken in!

🤣

Glad it's still performing for you.

Looks like an old grade school desk, probably has Billy luvs Mary carved into the other side.

For overall height, take measurements from the top of your scope turret to the bottom of the pistol grip. For overall length, take measurements from the longest area of the recoil pad to the end of the muzzle with or without the moderator if you're running one. We'll be better prepared to answer unless you are only seeking answers from Akela owners.

Hope you got it at a good price, as both calibers are on sale right now at Crosman for about $390 shipped.

Put a few shots through it yesterday afternoon. The Bug Buster scope had its turrets switched, most likely let it that way since I figured out what was going on. Had a little trouble loading the mags, but got that figured out as well. I had a wind out of the west so I didn't tweak it all the way... hopefully this morning I can fine tune it more. Got four mags worth before I had to recharge.

...I bought a Cayden but then I bought an Airmaks Caiman ( a bullpup )...maybe I should have just gotten an Akela...?!?...

...one nice thing aboot air guns is that you can just shoot in the house with minimal preparation...

...you don't need a lot of expensive accessories to just sort out the rifle and have some fun...

...this is a paper bag with some old magazines and clear packing tape...it is a bit over 3" thick and stopping 18.13 gr JSB's @ ~810 fps...

...the Akela might be shooting harder than the Caiman so go with 4+"...

...it is pretty quiet and the pellets don't bounce out...it won't last long but it didn't cost much...this is set up @ ~10 yards...

...I am practicing the correct hold over for that range with a 25 yard zero...

...a little common sense will help you not destroy your property...
