Tuning My Daystate Needs a Heavier Trigger!

Don't laugh!

So this Daystate Huntsman Regal I bought 2nd hand shoots great, but the trigger is breaking at around 10 ounces, even after I followed Daystate's instructions on increasing the sear engagement. This is fine off the sandbags, but due to some mild nerve damage in my hands, this absolutely doesn't work for me when hunting. I really need it to break around 2 or 2-1/2 pounds to be comfortable with it and not throw my shots.

Looks like what I really need is heavier sear and trigger springs. I dug through my small pile of springs last night and didn't come up with anything that might work.

Any ideas?

The electronic triggers are even worse. Some rave about the electronic triggers in the Airwolf, they claim to be adjustable, but they're not.

At just a few ounces it’s too light for me and the adjustments do nothing. I’d like to get it closer to 1 pound.

In looking at the manual, the Airwolf appears to have the same trigger design as the Red Wolf, at least in regard to adjustment. If so, it is definitely adjustable, but it's very different than any mechanical trigger adjustment. Since the weight adjustment alters pressure on a switch, it is extremely sensitive to any movement. If I perceive any movement in the trigger adjusting screw in the RW, then I've usually gone from 4 oz to over a pound. If I want to make a minor adjustment, I have to stop before I feel any movement. It is a tedious process, but it works. If yours doesn't adjust, then something is wrong.

Pretty sure the Airwolf 2nd stage trigger adjustment exists in name only. No matter what I do, the pull weight remains the same. Others have found the same. Maybe I need to break the loc-tite first.

I’d love to have a 1lb pull weight.
