My First Albino Groundhog

Not exactly hunting but while I was sitting on the patio this morning drinking coffee talking to my brother on the phone I had this Albino ground

hog show up on the dirt pile at the top of the hill in my backyard I use as a backstop for my target shooting measures 50yds now that I added some dirt.

I get few pests even though my work on my property would seem to be in favor of attracting them. But if that one showed up, he'd get a pass, maybe even fed, if he didn't become a true problem.

Nice! If I saw an albino chuck I would give it a pass... Heck, I spent half an hour looking at a regular chuck through my rifle scope last Saturday. He was by my old chicken barn. He was actually doing some of the weed whacking I’ve been needing to do, so he gets a pass, for now.

As a kid, I used to have a bunch of albino rats as pets, 
so if I were to ever spot an albino animal out in nature, I'd definitely give it a pass too..

I do a LOT of landscape / nature photography, and in my entire hobby/career, 
I still haven't been lucky enough to get one on film [or memory card] 

I think it's about time you start leaving food out. lol

PS: Since we're on the topic of colorless-animals...
I live relatively close to the Seneca Military Base/Depot that is the largest home to 'White Deer'. 
Not 'Albino', but 'White' - They have regular colored eyes still.. They are such a trip to see!

Saw this piebald deer on a road trip a few years back. I did see an albino starling on my place some years ago, I only saw it once, didn't get pictures.

I'd smoke it and have it mounted. Xziver shot a black woodchuck, he has it on video.

That thing looks cool. I give all albino animals a pass. I outgrew the, wow, that’s unique, let me kill it phase.

A white woodchuck does the same damage as a brown one. Same can be said for a white pigeon.

I agree with Bob about getting him out of the field and on the mantle.

Very cool. Mixed thoughts on letting him pass or not. While I think he is special looking. He’s still a chuck. A few years ago I was deer hunting and had an albino doe with 2 white fawns come within 20 yards. It’s just plain cool seeing them. My sister sent me a picture of an all black whitetail deer. Seen it last year too.

Very cool looking. We have a flock around here with four white turkeys. It's always fun to see something different.

The white deer/variations thereof are really interesting looking too. Almost like another animal.

Never seen a albino ground hog. Pretty neat. Got an albino squirrel once.
