Extreme Event - During the two qualifying days the winds were strong & variable. I was consistently holding between 1.5 and 2 mil-dot horizontally; depending on the wind direction. The first day I shot the 2nd highest score with 230 6x at 75 yards and the 2nd day I shot 217 1x at 75 yards which put me in 4th place going into the finals. The wind during the finals was absurd. The targets were set at 107 yards and there was a storm that brought in gusts upwards of 30 mph. So when people say the wind was a factor they are NOT joking. The gusts were so strong that shooters were aiming at their targets and hitting the target in the next lane. Go ahead and try to calculate how to dope that! I ended up placing 13th in Pro class.
Speed Silhouette - The wind was the same for the Speed Silhouette. I had a respectable 1:16 in qualifying then spun 4 steel targets during the finals (requiring multiple shots to knock down) I placed 9th in Pro class.
In more news… Shane Keller was de-throned by Peykan Beyrami in the Speed Silhouette. Ted Bier had an “off” year. And our very own Tom Adams (tominco) had the single fastest Speed Silhouette qualifying time ever recorded (0:55) but fell prey to the wind in the finals and had to "settle" for 2nd place.

Overall the event was very well organized. Everyone was really friendly and always willing to offer a helping hand. I had a blast mingling with the innovators and leaders of the industry. It was so much fun that I’m already looking forward to next year.
Oh yeah, I also scored BIG TIME at the raffle!
