Tuning My FWB P70FT will not fire

Hopefully someone has had this problem before. My P70FT has air but will not discharge. The rifle cocks fine, hammer locks back and releases as it should but no air is released. It acts like it has valve lock or a broken valve tip.

I am stuck at what to do. The cylinder I can remove but I am assuming there is still a charge in the plenum or maybe not but I don’t want to risk hurting myself or the rifle. So I am looking for ideas on how to release the charge in the plenum. Or even better someone that has had this issue.

Hello I have a fwb 700 I bought used first time iI filled it I did not screw the tank all the way in. You may want to take the tank off charge it and put it back on. Hope its something simple like that. Other than that I have no other ideas wish you luck and hope its something simple, it stinks when your gun goes down. Good luck Eric

Thanks for the reply. I use a foster in place of the front gauge so o don’t remove the cylinder for filling. But, as a check I backed the cylinder off and retightened it with no change.

Try completely removing the cylinder giving it couple hard whacks then screw it back in.

Sounds like the firing valve seal has given out. Pretty common condition resulting from the seal deforming and pretty much siezing the valve in place.



They are readily available and replaced relatively easily.

^^^. I took it apart at lunch and the valve seal is hard as a rock. I gave it a good spit cleaning and put it back together. First shot fired normally. Number two went back to just a click/slight pop.

Pretty common occurence with the older match rifles as they are starting to get on in years.



I have had good luck dealing with Nikkonos up in Canada for FWB seals. The eBay Nikkonos that is.
