My fx 400 stock

Thought i would share a picture of a stock i built for my royale.Its only ply from the hardware that i laminated together.Than set about shaping and routing than a few coats of the good oil.

"Plywood" id Baltic Birch Plywood aka Laminate. Can be purchased in 5'x5' sheet, has pretty well NO voids, ... ... .
Dye after finishing it can look like this one from ChrisK:




Not bad for fancy plywood and blue and black leather dye.

Yep just plain old ply.Baltic is way to expensive here in Australia.It would have cost me$250 instead of only $40.That's a lovely looking stock spysir.The hardest thing to do is the in letting the rest is pretty easy.I used a variable speed angle grinder with a flappy disc to remove most of the material than a dremel for the finer bits.

Your stock looks awesome, mats400, I have to admit I am envious of some peoples skills. I thought that might be an Australian model FX, no shroud was a giveaway, whereabouts are you in Oz?

Awesome stock, a work of art. I see you don't have a moderator, I have a 24" barrel w/o moderator on my 400 gives me a lot of shots @ 1000 fps w/jsb18.

Down here in Australiaw we are special we don't get moderaters for our toys.They want us to shoot them noisey.It's good for the ears lol.I did turn mine up it was running about 860 fps but I bumped it up to 930fps still get 50+ shots.Any more speed and I lost accuracy.

Yep there is a few of us down here but not everyone is on the map.Would like to catch up for shoot with everyone one day.

We are all spread a bit but a good chance to catch up might be at the QLD State Air Rifle titles in March, they are at Warwick this year, oops, next year, so only a short drive up the road for you blokes, still 10-11hrs for me but will be there.
