FX My FX Impact M3 .25 is haunted.

I have a situation that I can't figure out. I have an FX Impact m3 in .25 cal with a 700 mm barrel. I have installed a Huma slug power kit with the 6.9 gram hammer and 1st and 2nd stage Huma regulators.

1st reg...........170
2nd reg..........140
Macro.............1
Micro..............3
Valve..............4
FPS.................960
JSB KnockOut MK ll 33.49gr.

If I turn the Macro Wheel to a higher number the FPS goes down. A setting of 16 brings the FPS down to 835. The Micro Wheel does the same, higher settings give slower speeds. If I turn the valve to the 5th line FPS goes to 1050.

Is there something I'm not seeing. Why is the Macro and Micro adjustments seemingly working backwards?

Thanks, James

First put your valve adjustment screw at 4.5 lines. I would start at 1st regulator @ 160 second regulator and 2nd @ 140. Put your micro wheel on 2.5 and macro wheel on 16. Then use your chronograph to see the speeds at macro 16 and micro 2.5. youll see what the max speed is there. Then adjust to macro 12 and see if there is a significant impact to speed both positive or negative. I'll give you an example how I tuned my fx m3 .22 for h&N slugs.

I turned my valve adjustment to 4.5 1st regulator 145 second regulator 125. Macro 16 micro 2.5. I found my max speed to be around 1,012 consistently including wasting air. So I knew that I needed to reduce my speed to around 950 for lasers. I slowly adjusted the macro wheel down until i got a significant drop in range to around 930. I then used my micro to adjust up to around 3 or 3.25 and now I'm set at 950. I have a 60 shot string with a 3 fps standard deviation.

This is an example power curve:

Micro. Speed
1. 600
1.5. 700
2. 800
2.5. 850
3. 880
3.5. 900
4. 890
4.5. 850
5. 780

Your micro setting is somewhere beyond the peak (3.5 in above example). If you dial it back, you’ll find the peak. Forget the macro - just set it at 8. It just jogs the micro by a few clicks in either direction. Only the number on the micro dictates hammer force.
