My HW30's - all customized & fully tuned

I really like my HW30's... all 3 together here, and that standard HW30 M/II is about 25 years old (or at least a good portion of it, lol). My son is just 6 now but he should have a lot of fun in couple of years. I was not as lucky as him.

1.HW30 M/II + Vortex 2-7x32 (original stock refinished by me with dye & oil, full tuning, custom moderator)

2. HW30s + Weaver RV7 (custom walnut stock, full tuning, custom moderator, set-back custom trigger)

3. HW30s + Leupold EFR 3-9x33 (custom walnut stock, full tuning, custom moderator)

You, sir, have some beautiful guns there! I especially like the stock on #3, with the drop in the butt it looks like it would be very comfortable shooting offhand. If I may ask, who made your custom stocks?
I started my teaching my son to shoot when he was 5 or 6 with an HW55.

Small change... put open sights on one of them, everyone should know how to use irons, also my kids

PiterM, good on ya, man! You are right, iron sights should be a fundamental component of any shooter's education. Years ago (actually, a couple of decades) I taught all three of my kids to shoot using BB rifles and an old Diana underlever that I inherited. My two boys and my daughter all loved to "stand on the firing line" with me and tear up cans and such. To them it was a kind of fun that only Dad provided but the entire time they were learning to respect guns and value the place they should have in our lives as a free people. Have fun with your kids - and make a BIG DEAL out of the notion that one day they may outshoot you! Nothing motivates kids like the idea of surpassing a parent.

Shooting with irons is fine. But that regular stock was a bit too short for me. So this just arrived - custom walnut stock, made for shooting with iron sights. Longer than the original one (also forend) and with lowered cheekpiece for perfect eye alignment. And set-back trigger. Pure pleasure to shoot
