My New Akela

Just received my new Akela from Crosman.

I've shot a couple hundred rounds through it and seems to be a good shooter. I mainly shoot 10 yards indoors since it's raining and windy and the groups were pretty much one hole. I shot a few 25yard groups and they were around 1/2". But it was raining and windy so I'm guessing they'll be a bit tighter when the weather gets better.

Nice looking stock! I have one coming Monday to sight in and test for a friend. Good news for me- he doesn't have a place to shoot nearby so I'll be the caretaker for a while.

How's the sidelever? This will my first experience with a sidelever pup. I'm hoping my friend won't need it till after quail season, lol!

you got a beautiful stock on yours. Mine is pretty plain but still nice enough. The gun is really solid and side lever is like butter. You can barely feel the pellet loading, even the hard Crosmans.

The other side of the stock is a bit more tame. It's been a pleasure to shoot for the little bit of time I got to try it out today. I have all weekend to test it and break it in.

Very nice gun. My wife’s Akela is shooting Crosman Premier domed ultra magnum 14.3, five shots 1/2” at 35 yrds. Haven’t tried any other pellets but have some on the way. Enjoy!

Here's my last 3 groups outside as it's raining and 15-20 mph winds with bigger gusts. But it's like that here all the time. These are groups of 12 at 25 yards . Most of the flyers were my fault.

There is no hammer spring adjustment. I'm filling all the way.

The hammer spring is adjustable. Have you verified its backed all the way out?

Definitely a prettier stock than I expected, grats! Also, I like the placement of the pressure gauge. You can just lay down the rifle and glance over to see your fill instead of having to turn the thing upside down frequently or put your face in front of the barrel.
