So I saw this dreamline in ACZ FT chassis on sale at Utah Air and I couldn't myself cause I can't pass up a screaming deal!!! A dreamline classic is already $1050 normally and this dreamline in FT chassis is only $1019????? In FT world that is CHEAP for an almost competition ready FT gun. I mean every one "NEED" a backup FT gun right?
I ordered it with a carbon liner sleeve as I always do and received it in 3 days! UtahAir rocks as usual.
Here are a list of things I added/modified:
- Tuned it down to 12 FPE
- Noticed the hammer weight came with the gun is the 11 gram medium so switched to a 9 gram light hammer weight I had on hand
- added my Rowan adjustable hamster from my other FT gun, factory anschutz rail on this chassis!
- epoxied the carbon liner sleeve
- Noticed the dreamline superlight barrel does flop a bit so added a 3D printed barrel band
-UA only had the hunter version so I printed a knee rest for the rear stock
- SubMOA butt plate and hook
- Added one of my 3D printed moderator
- Printed a jam nut for the hammer spring adjuster
- added my Element Helix 6-24 SFP scope
- adjusted the trigger to single stage and 11oz
Scope is Element Helix SFP 6-24, ranges surprisingly well/accurate for $400 retail and 24x Printed a sunshade with antenna wind indicator, I really like this design.
The tune:
- Reg = 100 bars
- 9 gram hammer weight
- transfer port = medium
- Turned the hammer sprinter till I got to ~710fps with 10.3 grain pellets (the gun took a while to settle so had to adjust the HS a few times)
In the short 2 weeks I owned the gun I've already shot 2 matches, Oregon state GP and our local club match. I know some folks had issues with FX in 177 but I'm thoroughly impressed with this little "bargain" FT gun. I intentionally keeping everything as inexpensive as possible with all the things I had. All thought I didn't score as well as I liked but I blame showing up to matches with parallax wheel missing yardage markers, TWICE and the heat!!! Last weekend at the local match I decided to try a different scope I had but the scope didn't range down to 10 yards and didn't like to range between 44-55 yards so back to the Element helix. But when I did get the range right it was spot on and even knocked down quite a few long shots in 5-10mph wind where I had to hold off target, very satisfying!
Just this evening after the kids went to bed with a little day light left I grabbed my bum bag and the DL to sneak in a few shots at my 34 yard pellet box. Off my knees in my WFTF position I dropped 10+ shots into a hole no wider than 3-4 pellets across. Then I switched to empty part of target with a shot then try to hit the pellet hole with a second shot, I was able to hit most of them in the calm evening. Sadly it got dark and gun got off reg but I had a huge smile on my face. This little dreamline really impressed me, it's going to be hard to decide which gun to bring to the next match.
Here is a list of what I like:
- stupid accurate after little bit of work and tuning
- light weight(a little too light)
- consistent
- super quiet, very backyard friendly
- good ergonomics on the chassis that was designed for FT, can easily add on whatever you want
- very efficient with well over 100 shots @12 FPE from the 220cc tube filled to 230 bars
- CHEAP! (in FT world)
what I don't quite like:
- light weight, I need to add some weight!
- go through pellets fast!
- had to add a barrel band
If you are in the market for a FT/HFT gun, this little gem is a smoking deal right now.
