Zbroia My new "black rifle!"

I am a wood stock, long gun PCP/PB rifle traditionalist and have no interest in black plastic tactical-style rifles. But I finally found a black, wood-stocked traditional rifle that is a one-hole shooter at 25 yards in my back yard. This was a LNIB purchase from AoA at a really good price and it is a beauty and a shooter. Very much backyard friendly with just the stock shroud with no moderator. However, I slipped on a 0dB 110C and it is just a pffff! This is a .22 Zbroia Hortitsia w/220cc tube in Black. 300 BAR fill. A beautiful gun made in Ukraine. Date of manufacture was March 2020, so it has the updated bolt latch, to prevent unintentional bolt blow back. Everything about this rifle exudes quality . . . did I mention it is just as accurate as my Daystate Huntsman Regal or my AA S510 Carbine or my BSA R10? A real tack driver, light weight and I think it is now my number one choice as a hunting rifle. I could not recommend this rifle more to anyone looking for an accurate and light weight traditional hunting rifle. I have a 30mm tube Optisan EVX 10x44mm scope (on sale at Utah Airguns) with low rings, that keep the scope as low as possible to the shroud. The comb of the stock is perfect height for these low rings/44mm scope.

I saw that gun on the AOA site a few times and had thought about it as ive always wanted to try one. They seem like underrated guns.
Every review I could find on the net had glowing remarks. I just figured I needed to take the plunge and find out for myself. I am glad I did. I’ve had good luck, so far, shopping AoA’s pre-owned bin. Their ratings have been very accurate IMO and they’re asking price good value. I try not to get too far over my skis when it comes to evaluating some of the higher end guns they have for sale.

I recently purchased a Zbroia Kozak here off the classifieds, and am quite smitten with it. I haven't had time to shoot it for groups or chrono it yet (just remove some squirrels & starlings), but it is a very nice rifle to handle. Even before the Russian mess, they were a small name, but it seems Top Gun is still importing them. From what I've gathered, Zbroia is actually a hunting/firearms chain in Ukraine, with at least a couple stores. They also manufacture air guns and revolvers. Their main location in Kharkiv was very close to a missile strike last year.

I have the exact same rifle!
They’re a fine example of a traditional rifle, and very well made..
Mine is accurate and the shot cycle is incredibly crisp due to the “revolver style” hammer set up these things use
Let’s send Darko, at CARM mags some emails asking him to make a single shot loader for it!

I’m game.. that would be nice!
I don’t dislike the mags but if you remove them before they are empty they can be a pain to index correctly so it starts off on the next round..
I purchased mine used from Utah airguns and despite getting a heck of a deal on it from them I was rather disappointed when I received it in a non functioning condition..
Just expected way more from a company with such a well established and seemingly good reputation.
Though I’m quite partial to the rifle now, I spent the better part of a month after receiving it working thru issues with the mag not advancing when cocked, and some severe pellet spiraling which ended up having to do with the barrel shroud being over tightened..
So just a word of caution if ya remove the shroud just lightly snug it up or it has the ability to transform the rifle from a tack driver to a literal shot gun!

My two mags, that came with the rifle seem fool proof. I really like them. I have had zero issues. Nevertheless, I know what you mean by taking them out with pellets still in them then trying to get them aligned in the correct spot. I just need to practice more and understand the mechanics of exactly how they are being rotated, and I'm sure it will become second nature. I still struggle with Benjamin magazines when trying to reload a half empty one. :ROFLMAO: The Zbroia's simplicity and aluminum construction is first rate. Simple loading the pellets. No springs. I like them.

Talking about the shroud . . . have I read somewhere the free-floating barrel is "tensioned" with the shroud. I need to research that again. My rifle is as accurate as any of my Daystates, Air Arms or BSA's. I was out in the backyard yesterday and could not miss a dozen sparrows and blackbirds. Deadly accurate and so comfortable and fun to shoot. Quiet too!
