Hi,
Just wanted to share some thoughts on my new Bobcat Mk2 in .25. This is by all means no review. Just some random babbling... : )
- A few month ago I owned a FX Indy for a week, and a Marauder for about 3 weeks. The Bobcat is a little bit louder than the Indy, and way less loud than the Marauder. At least from what I remember. I was using 4 stackable moderators on the Indy, and I am also doing so on the Bobcat. However, the Bobcat doesn't really need them. I took them off today and the gun didn't seem that much louder.
- The grip is to thick. I have pretty big hands, but still, the guns grip is uncomfortably "big". A bit annoying, but one might get used to that?! I would have to use the gun way more often and see...
- It is alright balanced. I feel the "back" is to heavy, or maybe I should say, heavier than the front.
- Cocking is pretty smooth. Pretty much the same as on the Indy. Again, this is based on what I remember. : )
- Shot count is "a lot". I always forget to count (I know, how lame is that), but I would say 60 - 70 on full power, and over a hundred on the lower power level.
- Speaking of power. 930 fps on full power and 650 fps on lower power.
- Right as I unpacked the gun I noticed that something was loose. It turns out that the entire upper part (the air cylinder, barrel and all that kind of stuff) was sitting loose in the stock?! Why? I have no idea. Maybe someone worked on it and didn't put it together right?! Who knows?! All I know is, that I had to tighten two screws. One right on the bottom of the stock, where a bi-pod would go. And the other one where the thumb hole is. Speaking of screw under the stock where the bi-pod would go... Is that what the screw is for? How do you mount a bi-pod on the Bobcat Mk2?
- On the Indy I did notice something similiar. That time, it wasn't the stock that was loose, but the pumping lever. It took me only a total of around 150 pumps, before I noticed that some screws that hold the lever in place, came loose. How is that even possible? Do they not use Loctite at FX? Actually, I can answer this questions myself... "It doesn't seem like they do?!" I watched a bunch of FX videos and in none of them they used Loctite?! Am I missing something here? I ALWAYS use loctite on metal to metal screws. Anyhow.
- Accuracy?! See attached pictures.
Well, there was something else, but I forgot, ha ha.
Thanks,
Kmd
p.s. Whenever you see a shot way out of bounce, it is not a flyer. I sometimes forget what power level I am on, so I fire one shot to see. : ) As a matter of fact, I can't ever remember what the one dot and the two dots stand for. One for full power, and two for less power??? Two is more than one though, so is it the other way around, ha ha.
EDIT: When you hover over the picture you can see its file name. The file name contains the ammo used, and other info such as shot count and distance...
