My new BRK Ghost .30 cal (first thoughts)

Have you shot it yet? We need to see some target results please.
Cherry picking groups can be a manipulative thing. So it's all "trust" on that stuff. But since you asked, here are two groups I did at 70 yards.

Thats some serious groups & shooting. That BRK trigger must not be all that bad if groups like that can be had. Impressive I would say. I have one on hold & a Evol 30, decisions, decisions.........

Well 1), zx10wall modded my trigger to 8oz pull, and 2), not all my groups look like that. Im not a high level shooter and I pull shots a lot with jerking the gun (I'm practicing to get better). I was proud of those two groups because that's the most steady my hold was the whole session, lol.

You can't go wrong with either in my opinion. It is nice having the higher shot count and on-the-fly adjustability of the Ghost, but there is something to be said about the crazy accuracy of shooting cheap CPHP out of the Evol and the great trigger.

I am seriousely looking at this in .30. How is the grip..? Im more of a soft touch grip guy like RTI uses etc.. & worry about the AK va AR type grip for limiting what I can use. The grip on my Uragan has me spoiled. Also does the entire chassis retain the barrel from shifting around ? & finaly how do you like the dove tail to 1913.? & was it easy to get your eyebox correct. I will be using 20x Sightron SIII.
Thanks Joe

Jaxjax,

I swapped my grip for a Hogue, its rubberized and a bit beefier and I like it much better than the original. Haven't tried the ergo pesty3782 suggested, but looks similar.

Here is the ergo on my rifle, I did try the Hogue first, but liked the ergo better. The wife likes the original grip on her ghost.

Is that the Saber Tact ARCA/Pic rail extension you have on yours.? If so , how does it on flex & the overall quality. If I go Ghost I suppose its PRS or Saber as I have to have an extension.

Here is the rail Joe. The rail does not flex, but I did switch it out for a PRS before RMAC so I could use a friends arca rail bags.....I still have one on Buster (compact) no flex at all and the quality is very nice.

I'm thinking about swapping my db 110 for a 160. I'm wondering if it'll be more accurate.... as if I need that, lol.

I had a db 110 on my Sniper XR and switched it for a 160, then got a 160 for my Ghost, although I didn't measure the difference on the Sniper, it was noticeable enough to keep the 160s on both of them. Slightly longer, but quieter enough to make it worth it for me.

Those are some great groups! Derrick @zx10wall does a great job on the ghost platform...This week I was trying to get ready to shoot the ghost at a local 100 yard competition today and just couldn't get it to group like it should....I tried 880-950 FPS with the 44's....I was back at 910 and the wife asked if I wanted her to shoot it and she at 50 yards proceeded to have 5 shots kissing each other.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

So we talked about how she was holding the rifle compared to how I was holding it, so I loosened my grip on on the rifle and after a few tries I was getting kissing cousins at 50 yards also...It was the shooter for sure!!!!

Shooting EFT is totally different than shooting a small 10X at 100 yards off the bench. Now if I am able to continue to hold Specter (my 30 Ghost) correctly maybe just maybe I can do good today.
