My new FX for backyard pesting.

Wondering if swapping to a peek valve is helping with the Stiction issues they were having or not. Neither of mine were reg creepers, but still seemed to have that first couple shots off. My .25 wasn’t necessarily high power, but my .30 was, and still had the issue. I believe the maverick is more consistent than even the new M3, just less tuneability.

Very possible, all my friends’ M3s and my MK2 don’t have the first shot issue. My guess is still tune related but hard to say without looking at the gun. My gun I have that does have slow first shot is my crown with very high reg and lowest possible hammer pressure, even that gun has settled over time and doesn’t really show slow first shot much.

"Heavy" depends on the person wielding it. It's very light to me actually. Heck, I can hold my M3 30 cal sniper with Titan scope out with one hand for 30 seconds. I take fitness very seriously.
He probably meant “over scoped” which is what many do to their “compact” guns. It kind of negates going compact in the first place. Compact and heavy? Is still heavy to most.

I tend to buy what I like regardless of popular opinions. But, quite a few people are running the Element Helix on their compacts. Compact to me means short. I think too many people judge others according to their preferences. To me, if someone likes what they've built, I'm happy for them. Whether or not it goes according to my personal preferences. That is what freedom is all about(y)

I don’t believe anyone was trying to foist their preferences on you. Or judge your preferences on your PCP. Just expressing opinions. It’s understood that the you can buy and dress up a PCP as you see fit. Your first and second sentences seem to contradict each other.👌

Not really a contradiction, just stating facts. First sentence is a fact, and the second sentence is a fact. The pieces fall where they may;)

So you don’t buy according to popular opinions… “But quite a few people are running Helixes?” Yes, the pieces fall into your contradictions. I guess those Impacts aren’t popular either.😉 When someone post up about their gun. They are inviting opinions… no one is trying to be mean or judge.

No, don't try to bend my words to fit your agenda lol! I did not say that I don't buy according to popular opinions. I said that "I tend to buy what I like regardless of popular opinions." There is a big difference there. Gotta slow it down so that you can properly digest the words correctly. Let's just enjoy the pics of the rifle shall we......

Wow, “agendas?” Yes, take your own advice… i get it, you buy what’s popular with others and say you do it regardless of the hype? OK. I didn’t say anything about your rig. Just that “many” over scope their compacts, regardless of brand. I like FXs, but for me? Just too much “hype” around their products. They are number one in sales for a reason. Lots and lots of marketing. I get it now, you picked your Impacts up with no outside influence. For me setting up a compact gun snd putting a scope almost as long as the gun, and then mounting it a mile high is a non starter. It works but the aesthetics are off as is the balance of the gun. Thats my opinion on some compacts, yours included. Enjoy your Impact…

PS: I’m not bending words, you are. Or on an agenda, whatever that means.Your condescending tone tells me what i need to know about you. Enjoy your Impact and be well.

Nice setup. Is it staying first shot consistent for a grab and go pesting setup? I loved my impacts, but neither of them was consistent without firing off the first 2 shots before a session. I couldn’t trust it to be my backyard grab and shoot for that reason. Interested if these issues have been solved!

I bet if everyone who had their Impacts chrono'd them every time theyd see the inconsistency, even the top competition shooters mention having to unload the plenum before their shot string becomes consistent, its basics. The pressure in the plenum usually (almost always) is not the same as it was when it was stored and being as the plenum is so large on the impacts this is noticeable. However, depending on yardage the drop in FPS might not be noticeable and likely not an issue for its use here.

I use a heavy Arken scope on my compacts I want great tracking and just very use to that scope compact scopes for hunting and stiluff but I use my gun for paperwork and pesting so gotta have a more long range scope plus few of my pests are out past 110 yards tried the tac vectors scopes just cannot get use to the small vied of view. Till the new lvo and lightweight scopes are out I’ll stick to my favorites

Nice. That scope is to heavy for carry gun. Nice.
Not sure why they say to heavy for a carry gun you see all the Iguana hunters in Florida walking around to the property through using full-size scopes not everybody wants a compact scope feel the view is terrible especially if you’re shooting it any distance. Just my opinion and my eye.

I used my TS12x on my compact taipan friday to shoot a pigeon at 77 yards, worked beautifully. There are compact scopes out there that will fit the bill but you have to spend.

I do agree though, if youre comfortable with it, then its whatever, I just wouldn't buy a compact and put a scope this size on it, the extra 4 inches on a 600mm setup wouldn't be noticed in this application and would yield same velocity with a higher shot count, a 3-12 or even 3-9 is MORE (to me) than sufficient 15-35 yards as well.

While I agree that some people like the extra magnification, and weight doesn’t bother them, I think the iguana boys are a bad example. All this yourvers with FX everything and element scopes on top are sponsored by FX. they’re not shooting that setup bc they necessarily like it, but to keep the money coming. If you recall before that, the iguana channels like raj and ninja were using gamo break barrels to do their work.
Even Jessica from iguana solutions was using a concept lite until she became sponsored by AOA. it’s just the nature of the beast. Keep your sponsors happy!

P.s. this doesn’t mean I don’t watch the videos!

Impact has more fine tuning capability and with the right tune I don’t get the slower first shot. With impact usually the balanced tunes at higher end of power spectrum won’t have the first shot slow problem. Generally speaking only non regulated guns are considered reliable enough because the speed/power is regulated with TP size which is physically immovable. If you tune it in the sweet spot the impact can be really close, my impact tuned at close edge of its power limit is extremely consistent even after a few weeks or refilling the gun. I shoot with the chrono hanging off the side most of the time.
only 40 yards to shoot here and still saving for a mac1 or thomas "cos i want one ."

I didn't say the ts12x is expensive I said there are compact scopes out there that will push all the gripes aside about a compact scope but you just have to pay.

They veyron and the discovery are same tier, the ts12x is above that, I paid $360 for mine with 1 day shipping. I had the veyron and the ts12x mounted the same day, the FOV, clarity, turrets, (and for me eye) the relief were all way better suited on the ts12x than the veyron, hands down, night and day. Not lets not deter the topic of discussion anymore.
