My new FX Impact 177 cal

Took the new Impact I bought for my birthday to the indoor range today to shoot as close to 25 yards as possible. I got 23 yards. The rifle is setup for JSB 13.43 redesigns at PL8 shooting 870fps and 10 grainers at PL 1 at 850. I also tried my trusty H&N Baracuda FT 9.57 pellets that do so well in the HW44. Well, the winner of this shoot off was the Baracudas with all sub-moa groups and one one-hole group.

The JSBs did respectable as well. These are actually the pellet I intend to shoot regularly. Best group .113” Center to Center. The largest was right around moa. Keep in mind these are the first tins of pellets shot at targets. Previous shots were for tuning only and with a filthy dirty barrel. I'm thinking this gun'll shoot!

Congrats on your new B-Day rifle! I asked an Impact M3 owner how they would perform in .177 and he said getting the Impact in .177 didn't make any sense. I'm not sure why; heck it's a great platform and you can shoot for days before needing more air.
I totally agree. Shot all morning at club on one fill. And energy isn't a requirement for small groups on paper. And very cheap to shoot.

Great shooting. I’m glad to see the H&N pellets shoot so well for you. I haven’t had as much success with those as I’ve had with the various JSB variants. How does it do with the 10.34 from JSB, AA, and FX? Is this with a superior liner? Thanks for sharing your post; and your shooting skills.

I tried the FX 13.4 and the Jsb 10.34 and they were ok. The Baracudas shoot so much better for me. Yes, Superior liner - 600mm. Think if I sort the FX and JSB 10 grainers they might be more consistent. They shot several fliers as opposed to the JSB redesigns or the Baracudas.

177 projectiles are very light (duh!), which means they get affected by muzzle turbulence much easier/faster. Having the valve adjuster to choke down the valve dwell and ample power to spare means the gun is very easy to fine tune.

Great shooting, have you tried wax/lube the pellets? it helps with tighten the groups tiny bit and fliers, obviously won’t help if skirt is badly bent. The H&N looks great but their BC isn’t high so they tend to open up pass 30 yards in the wind.

You have to watch the batches of 10.3 jsb as i had like 4 tins that were way undersized - to the point I couldn’t size them om my die!

I didn't think I would even try the H&Ns past 10 meter, but obviously they did well at 25 yards. I bought this gun for 25 yards, so that's its home for now. I usually head size and lube pellets, but these were shot straight from tin. I have a bunch on the way that I will sort and lube.
