My NEW GMI SWAG PRESS

Hi so I got my GMI Freedom press , I got it in .22 caliber with a flat base and also a deep Taper base . so it got here in a double vardboard box I opened both to find A plastic shipping container , I open that and find the press and 2 pcv boxes with one your tooling and the other with a set of allen wrenches , and toolds to tighten hardware , Even the hardare was wrapped with extra hardware .
So I undo everything and look at build quality I see the hollow point pim and it has 2 allen screws to lock it in place and a allen to adjust your depth , As alot of you guys know I am a mechanic and I always take things apart even when I get a new gun to see how its made ect ,
So the detail of fitment of threads is very tight , the fitment of the pins to the diew are precise , the press is much smaller then my corbin it is a compact unit but it is made very riggid , and is made very well , the way you adjust the sizes with this press is it has a coller which is split like a some dies are made where their is a adjustment to lock the threads when you tighten screw . So you turn dial to adjust your size and lower pin into die and then toghten coller this puts everything into alignment , and then when it is centered the weight of handle wthe pin will fall threw die perfectly ,
I had seen a forum where people wanted a review so I am explaining everything on this set up ,like did anyone get a gmi ? Well I did , I just ordered a >30 caliber die with a boat tail , I cant wait for this I am going to make some 68 grainers or so for the Yotes here they getting bad
OK so here is a few pics of some I have just made learning to use this machine , I plan on trying to shoot some groups on a few of my guns I will update this post as I do with accuarcy results and when I get the .30 caliber I will also show you results and I am sorry these pictures didnt come out well , More pics to come ,
I also would like to add 1 thing GMI emailed me to see how things going , then they give you pointers and advice and if You messege then they answer with in like under 1 hour during hours , and they are the most prefessional people you casn see they care about their name and products they are unlike what most of us are used to as far as manufactures , they are craftsman who are thriving for perfection , LOU

I watched the video and looked at all the tooling and I'm impressed with the simplicity of the machine and dies, just needs a poly fork to pop the noses off the pin.

$1250 is a bargain compared to the $3k spent the Corbin press I had. I'd have to try someone's slugs before I'd buy the press but long term, the press would pay for itself in a year buying JSB pellets shooting a tin a week.

@Firewalker If someone is going to test some slugs out long-range, I have faith in @jwrabbit123 to do these slugs some justice in a review. I think what Ken and his team have released looks promising. Competition in markets can be beneficial for us consumers.

Yes I will do targets BC and long range accuracy soon , just making slugs and learning this machine ,keep checking back here for my updates , and If I take any coyotes with this ammo I will post hunts LOU , I am looking forward to taking out a few yotes with these as most everyone who knows me knows I love MP slugs I make because for coyotes here I prefer solid points not hollow points , I am going to try 2 things , One is for my Yote ammo I will back out the hollow point and to just make a tiny dimple ,
I also now that I see how this hollow point pin is totally adjustable , I am thinking of also making a deeper hollowpoint and using a ballistic tip , I am looking into buying or making something like this
I hsve used these in 50bmg and .308 , so even smallest of these is ,250 , so I am looking for them like a big bag or possibly spin a few on mini lathe , but I rather buy a bag , just wondering hot it would preform what do you guys think ?

@jwrabbit123 I’m thinking that plastic tips or plastic ball inserts (that fit into the hollow) may be the way to go as not to throw off the slug’s center of gravity so much. Adding metal tips, have you taken the alteration of weight distribution into consideration?

i wonder how these would effect pass through and what distance would be safe zone in back of your target ?

I dont know materal yet with the Corbin ultra low drag tips they weighed very little I dont know yet materal but it would be balanced and I am saying a slug weight and the tip not to exceed 5% so i think it souls make same improvement as they do on real guns , I am not saying a ball , though I have tested balles in cast slugs and they worked wel lwhen I tested them it was powder burners low speed , I want to try this for aerodynamics to see what bc increases or to go beyond usual slug distances , I have not tried it yet but it is idea now with these slugs for the 30 cal

Thanks for the review @jwrabbit123 , Its our sincere effort to deliver something original at a cost that's justified.

We are committed to ensuring that the founders of the company are available online at all times to address queries and resolve issues. Its part of our value and trust system that we follow. In simple words, Kickass customer and aftersales support.

One of the things we did when engineering the Freedom 2 press was that we made sure that its All steel construction, with our signature satin champagne gold surface treatment. Hence the amount of rigidity we get from it is incredible. I just love the clip that holds the lever / arm in place, Its absolutely satisfying with the positive click that assures that the lever wont accidentally fall down, it just stays in place.

@Firewalker Well, Shipping is included!, that's the kind of value we are delivering.

@Ezana4CE thanks for your kind words, Yep competition is good it keeps us on the edge and brings out innovation.

I'm very tempted, I just need slugs in hand to test before dropping the dime, Corbin made promises and I waited a long time just to be disappointed, we need samples.
