My new P35

"Subscriber" designed the moderators and referenced me to another member who 3D printed them. I paid the guy who printed them a small fee approximating his cost of the materials he used. If you want one and subscriber is unresponsive I will try to find information on who printed them.
If you can find me someone who can print them that would be awesome. Just shoot me a dm or post here, thanks.

I'm just trying to get some pellets through this P35 to wear it in. I had time for 2 10 rnd mags today before dark. I'm just shooting the 25gr snowpeaks at 20 yards. It's zeroed for 34gr FX pellets, I have it ready just in case a rodent stops by. My Yong Heng pressure gauge decided to give up the ghost today, so I wasn't able to fill it up. I was shocked with the 5 round group in there. I wasn't taking a lot of time with each shot.

Ed, my newer P35s in 177 and 22 are pretty accurate (with pellets) but my older 25 caliber isn't nearly as accurate. It will occasionally shoot a 1/4 inch group at 25 yards but five shot groups at 30 yards are at least 1/2 inch and often closer to 3/4 inch. Not terrible but noticably worse. The crown on this barrel is drilled out close to an inch - the barrel is effectively this much shorter. Looks like a crude attempt at a fix the accuracy - or maybe somebody trying to eliminate the choke. I'm still hoping to get the barrel I ordered in April from Krale and that it shoots like my other two or like Florida_man's recently purchased 25.

I bought the most perforated one from @TorqueMaster
He recommends a single wrap of felt over it. It fit snug for me, so I haven't tried felt in it yet. Its plenty quiet for me.

Kleezy,

Go to the search bar in the upper right corner of the screen (I am using a computer if you are on a phone I can't help). Click in the search bar and there will be an option to search by member. Type in "Torquemaster" and hit search. You don't need anything in the other box. You will see posts by torquemaster and if you click on his handle you will get the option to start a conversation. I'm sure there are other ways to do it but this works for me.

I think Jim Struglia printed mine, Floridaman gave you his email address. You could also just send him an email. I have one of each of the three designs on the right that Floridaman posted. I measured them as about equally quiet. I like the design with the most perforations best but I don't have any solid reason for it over the others.

I also have a Tatsu but I don't know if I've tried it with an empty shroud. With the printed moderator in the shroud it didn't seem to do much. Works fine on my Avenger so it should work well for a P35 or bullshark. I prefer the printed moderators to keep the length and weight down.

Both of my SPA .25s were built by Wes at Airgun Archery Fun. I don't know if he touched up the barrels or just selected good ones, but neither of them are pellet picky and both shoots slugs well. The Stormrider will shoot Hades into one hole at 25 yards.

I should clear it up, I used the Tatsu with the factory baffles and it helped a noticeable amount. I haven’t tried it with the 3d printed baffle yet.
I will also admit, I don’t have the best ear to notice a lot.
My back yard where I shoot is all 6’ wood fence. If I don’t sense an echo of the shot, I’m happy.

Thanks, I just sent him an email. Also I couldn't get the "start conversation" to show up, must be a post limit for new members or something before I can access that.

Jim, whose email i shared, makes in shroud baffles and models that include the external moderator. Sound isn’t the biggest concern for me and I have the DonnyFL adapter and Tatsu, so I just went with the internal. The internal alone is perfect for daytime shooting. I only plan on using it in conjunction with the DonnyFL if I have to do some night pesting that my notos can’t handle.

I should probably do some more sound tests on the P35-25 at it's current tune. I actually dug out the Tatsu and the DonnyFL P35 adapter but just haven't screwed it on.

I did a bunch of shooting with slugs in my P35-25 this morning. I tested them previously but did not find any I think are accurate. At it's current tune, I am getting pretty good results with Nielsen 26.8 grain. Velocity averaged about 815 fps so energy dropped to just under 40 fpe. I shot two 5 shot groups in a row with them at 30 yards that measured 5/8ths center to center. The first 3 in both cases went into 1/4 inch or less. That is as good as this gun's best with pellets. I left it sighted in with the slugs. I have most of a box so I can use them for testing future tunes and if I need to shoot something other than a target with this gun in the near future 40 fpe will be enough. I was using the Primary Arms 4-14 it normally wears which has a thick reticle. I could probably reduce group size a little with a higher power scope with a finer reticle. Slugs that did not work as well include 28 and 34 grain H&N slug HPs and Grizzly 31 grain (although the Grizzlys probably shot the best they ever have for me from either of my 25s).

In sighting in the Nielsens I shot 34 shots including shots below where I think the regulator is set. I started shooting them at about a regulator setting of about 222.5 bar (calculated using the bar/shot and a reading of 235 bar after I filled the gun and then shot 5 Grizzlys). After 29 shots I looked at the regulator again and it was at about 150 bar. If I then calculate the bar/shot I get 2.5 bar per shot. My velocity started to increase a few shots later which I believe is an indication I was below the regulator setting. If I calculate the bar/shot of the last 14 shots I took I get 1.79 bar/shot. The ES/SD for all 34 shots is 39.4/8.5. The same values for the first 29 are 26.2/5.28. I then calculated the "best 27" to exclude what looks like a mistake by me writing down the reading on the second shot and those values are 16.4/4.1 (fps).

So if I then use the bar/shot values for the regulated portion of the string I calculate I will get 44 shots from a full 250 fill down to the assumed 140 regulator. That is at about 45 fpe with pellets or 40 with slugs. I think that is pretty good considering the air storage size. But, in addition, there are about another 15 shots available with a little more deviation in the velocity. You could call it a 45/45 or even a 45/60 tune. I'll probably test the penetration of the Nielsens next week in wet paper. I like the fact that it seems to shoot them pretty well.

A little update. After I shot the shot string I discussed above I looked at the hammer spring again and discovered I did not have the hammer spring at maximum. I left out the #10 washer shim I made. With that inserted I got to a 3 shot average of 836 fps with the Nielsen 26.8 slugs it seems to like. 41.6 fpe. Then I decided to try the brass spacer for the hammer end of the spring that goes into the hammer - effectively increasing it's mass a little - that came with the plenum. That got me to 850 fps (43 fpe) on the slugs and 830fps (47.2 fpe) with H&N Baracuda pellets. That is pretty darn close to my 50 fpe goal. Warmer weather might get me there.

I was messing with the hammer spring because my first shot velocity is lower than the rest of the string. I've seen that before and it was because the hammer spring was not matched to the regulator. That was the case this time too. I needed more. The washer shim gave me a little and the brass hammer end of spring spacer gave a little more. But I am still 4mps low on the first shot. So I need more hammer spring which would mainly affect my first shot but probably give me a slight increase in the shot string. Not sure I will find a stiffer hammer spring but Florida_man may have identified one. If that doesn't happen I will need to adjust my regulator down slightly. It will be hard to only make the very small adjustment I need but if I do that right I should end up at the same point or maybe even slightly greater velocity/power.

Bottom line is drilling out the transfer port, barrel port, and the passage between them and adding the power plenum is getting me to just under 50 fpe with pellets. Limitation is the hammer hitting the valve hard enough to open it fully with slightly increase regulator pressure. I am using the 450 mm barrel the gun came with.

Miksatx printed the one I'm using and I'm almost positive it was designed by Subscriber. My Bullshark is the the quietest pcp I own using it and the hair curler mod. It doesn't look as nice as a Tatsu but it sure works well. View attachment 407281
Am I missing something, how do you take out the yellow and blues spacers and still mount the buttpad back. The buttpad has 2 rods that stick out and I can't seem to just mount the buttpad only without getting rid of them.
