My New Weihrauch HW100

After discussion and input here on the board, I decided to buy an HW50 .177 to begin shooting and rabbit hunting. And then, as often heppens, “something came up.” A very kind seller in NorCal sold me his Laminate stock HW100 (also in .177) with pump and extra magazines, and as he was driving south, he and I were able to meet up in LA this evening. Very thrilled to have it in my hands, and yes, it is change of direction. But it’s so beautiful, and he gave me a great deal, I couldn’t resist. I have a lot of paper shooting to do before I aim at something with ears, but I will keep you folks posted. Happy to be part of the group! Aloha!

P.S., the scope is not included. Those were the seller’s pictures

Congratulations! I have the same HW100 in .177 but in a carbine. Also have a HW50 in a custom stock. You made a great decision to go with the HW100. My stock HW100 carbine came tuned from the factory shooting JSB 10.34gr pellets at 20fpe with great accuracy. Your HW100 should be slightly better in power with the same or better accuracy. I also see an air compressor in your future - welcome to the PCP rabbit hole!

I don't know about..."built like a tank" !! (different thoughts on tanks!)...but the overall receiver design is very well done.
I have two of the Bullpups, both in .22. One modified a bit, one stock.
As said above, I also think that they are an underrated gun. The fit and finish of the receiver are as good as any, better than some higher end guns. The way everything is tied together, for minimal flex was done well. The trigger and hammer spring are adjustable, although on both of my guns the trigger did not require and adjustment. The design and feel is second to none. Very crisp, clean let-off.

Beware, the main "achilles heel" to these guns is a tiny o-ring, between the air cylinder and the inlet valve, on the tip of the valve. They have a habit of leaking. If you have this problem, get a "synthetic" o-ring, not a rubber one.

Have fun with your new toys.

The stock on mine isn't nearly as nice as yours !!

That carbine model is super sweet. Why at is your opinion of the moderator?

It’s definitely beautiful. Yours looks pretty awesome too. I’m sure your used targets are way more impressive than mine will be!

Weihrauch moderators are highly rated in various comparison test on the internet. I have DonnyFL, STO, and Hugget moderators on various PCPs and I rate the Weihrauch on par with them. The only issue I have with the Weihrauch moderator is that Weihrauch uses a very good thread locker to put them on. If you want to replace it you will require a lot of heat to loosen the thread locker and you may still damage the moderator when taking it off.

I have two FAC power HW100S full size rifles (.177 & .22) and they are excellent!

IMHO, The Weihrauch magazine system is best there is. Solid metal, no moving parts, can be filled with one-handed and won't double-load. Wish other airgun manufacturers would abandon the dial-a-problem plastic magazines.

The only adjustment I've made was to reduce the velocity on the .177 as it was shooting too fast. Lots of info on the Weihrauch Owners website.

I'm shooting JSB 10.34 grain pellets with excellent results.

You have a fine rifle there, enjoy!

Aloha Brother.... what part of the islands did you come from? I lived on Oahu for 16 years. Awesome choice of PCP/gun.
you can lighten this gun and it's brother the HW110 up A LOT with a titanium air cylinder: https://hw100tuning.co.uk/200bar-titanium-cylinders

That’s good to know because I believe in CA it is best for the moderator to be considered permanently affixed so as not to run afoul of the law.

The suppressor on both of my HW100's had just a small dab of an epoxy in the threads of the barrel.
I used one of these strap wrenches on mine. With a little tugging, it unwound without much work. They do no harm to the part that it's attached to.

I lived in Oahu all my life until moving to LA in 2014. At that point “all my life” had been 50 years. Even then I continued working in Honolulu until 2021. I grew up in Kailua but lived in Hawaii Kai (East Oahu) until we moved. Were you at Pearl Harbor?
