My new Yong Heng compressor

Language nut here and half ass speaker of eight languages, one being Mandarin. Yong means (in this case) perpetual and Heng means constant. When you put them together they mean eternal.

You can make your compressor a little quieter by removing the sintered metal filter and replace it with a 1/4" npt male to 1/2" hose barb or just the male side of a quick connect fitting like the ones found on regular air compressor hose. Run a 1/2" hose from that to a larger sound deadening filter. It's normal to feel the air go both ways through the filter. This will cut a lot of the noise.

When using an extra fan to help cool the compressor, be sure it blows from the side and not directly at the front of the compressor because the internal fan blows back to front. If you had the fan blowing straight at the front of the cylinder it would be fighting the internal fan and provide less cooling.

When the humidity is high the little filter will soak fast and the steel ends of the hose that came with it rust fast. You can run hydraulic oil in there with no problem but the air coming off it stinks bad. Synthetic oil like Royal Purple doesn't stink so much and probably lubes better and lasts longer. I have a brand new large gold filter I'll give you if you'll PM me the address you want it sent to.

I bought a wet tile saw pump at home depot (royobi) for more water flow and use a 5gal bucket with 10lbs of ice and just enough water to cover the pump to top off (200bar to 4500bar) a large 109cf carbon fiber tank run time on the compressor is 30-40 mins and temp stays below 50c. I also use straight (30 weight non detergent) motor oil. still running for about a year now.

NIce video. Someone else had mentioned to use an outside auxiliary fan as you note but be sure it is blowing from the side/behind and not directly from the front since it might fight the internal fan and stagnate air around the heads. There is also a F temp gauge available on ebay for just a few dollars if that C reading bothers you-it is identical to the C part and is plug and play. I keep my water return line above water surface so I can see at a glance that water is flowing. Ice is your friend on these things. Enjoy and I hope you get lots of service out of it.

The water pump that comes with the Yong Heng is plenty adequate. Higher flow will not produce more cooling.

This is an interesting thing I have always wanted to test....or see tested.

Thermal transfer is interesting, is more flow better or is a greater temp difference better.....what is going to do the best job on of pulling out the heat. I know you can get water moving too fast and you will have issues, back when I raced I had to slow down my water pump or I would over heat.

It would be interesting to find out.

Been using a Yong Heng to direct fill guns for a couple months now. Using Royal Purple for the oil and never had any issues with it smelling bad. I am still using the stock mouisture trap that comes with the unit and I just remove the little filter after each fill to let it dry completely before use again and I just pop in a dry one. The compressor only runs 40-60 seconds to direct fill guns so the little moisture filter is adequate for my use. Love the little compressor and wish I would of bought one sooner.
