my PP750 .177 pistol breaking it in or is it breaking me in?

First off it does not give me a break,like I can not stop hand pumping it to take a break as it leaks out the fill slowly if I keep pump connected to catch a breath.,it takes more pumps to fill and its sweet spot shooting is 20 shots......it is accurate for those 20 shots.

I got it shipped stock,meaning less power,I really thought I would get a lot more shots,plus harder to pump over 3000psi.OK it is still breaking in.

I got a extra magazine,it does not fit as it is too wide,the other one fits great.

Trigger is hard,that can be fixed easy enough,it is well built for price point,the trigger,hammer thing is funky,but it works.

I see a lot of custom parts for this pistol in the near future,well I hope so because it can use them.

Basically I see a good PCP multi shot pistol that may be worth getting to know better.

Remember I have only about 150 shots through it,my Prod is a lot easier for me to like sooner, it feeds and loads better....for me,

The PP750 is a work in progress for me,I did not want it to be,it seems to be like a cat,I wanted a dog,LOL....

Take what I said as a primary thought process...hopeful We can develop an understanding relationship based on mutual respect.

What king of hand pump are you using? Also have you tried using a little silicone on the orings on the probe?

That's why I'm having Brian go through my 22 caliber PP750 for me. I wanted to have a professional airgun smith go through it and knock down the rough edges before I got it and started shooting it. Hopefully as more people get them in their hands there will be some mods coming available. Good luck with yours and hopefully it all gets sorted out.

I have a Hill pump.I think it is a good thing that buyers are having their pistols tuned.I did not know what I was getting,that said It seems like an easy pistol to tune and knock the rough edges off,plus I wanted to learn and do it myself.

I did put the right grease on it,I will look at the oring.

I do think this pistol will be like the Crossmans=worth it for "smiths" to make custom parts for and sell to others;remember how long and how many Crossmans pistols are out there.

This" game" is just starting for this pistol.

As I started reading your post I thought you were going to say you were out of breath because you couldn't stop shooting . Sounds like a probe o-ring for sure, sorry you got out-of-the-box problems! I did nothing with mine (.177) but clean the barrel and its a keeper! If you don't experience the leak down when filling other guns you know the leak is after that fitting.

My pp800 has a small phillips screw that holds a tiny oring under it. The oring lets pressure in, keeps it in. Well, the screw was just a little loose on mine.



Worth a look



*edit. soudns like a pump issue, not the gun, but still may want to tighten that screw i mentioned if it doesnt seem very tight

I had the same problem with my extra magazine mines in 177 also what I found was the tab on the back that goes into the slot on the breech is to wide I used a small flat file I got from harbor freight to clean the edges up and it slides in just fine now.

I would see if the barrel can be loosened and pulled out a little to clear that other apparently thicker magazine like how you do with the Marauder if tightening the magazine screw doesn't help or negatively affects rotation by doing so.

Try divers silicone on the probe o-rings to stop blowby leak and if that doesn't help wrap it in place with couple rubber bands when filling since the probe may be loose and at a bad angle or o-rings may be damaged worth checking too.

Getto for sure but may work for you when using a hand pump since you don't have extra hands to press that probe into the gun while pumping.

May be helpful to tie a couple of rubber bands to the end of the fill hose to also act as a secondary crude safety rig to prevent the probes and quick disconnects from whipping out under pressure to avoid potential user harm while filling from a tank or pump if you aren't able to hold them in place or are just too afraid to.

I like this idea. You could also use velcro for what might be a stronger solution.

Good idea Velcro originally tried it but it didn't hold as well after it got overused lost its hold especially when the hose goes flying.

Is the pistol leaking from the fill assembly on the tube or the fill probe?

Does your pistol hold air or leak out after some time?

It is from a filling oring...somewhere,pistol holds air.

I pumped it up to 2500psi today got about 16 more shots,was some hard pumping from my Hill pump.

Tuned the trigger more,a little polishing,really not much to polish,cut the spring down,that really helped,but I think a softer spring would be a better way to go.

I don't know how accurate it can be,I know it can be pretty accurate for 16 shots...that is not enough....I am learning as I go.

I have tuned other pistols and rifles;I have to learn more about regulated and hammer tension.

Yea it really is too much spring for that pistol, unless you’re going for max power. I cut 2 coils off mine and polished the trigger sear and hammer as well. Much smoother cocking. 
When you’re ready, you should buy a cheap compressor to take advantage of that 250 bar fill. 


What pressure do you stop shooting at?

I stopt between 1000-900..pellets drop some before that.i was starting a little over 2000,today I went to 2500...whew some hard pumping for me.

I can see a cheap compressor in my future.....pity ,all my other PCP guns are easy to pump to 2500psi.plus get more shoots.

I will tear it all the way apart...someday...at fix it up more. Wait a minute, I have some fishing reels I need to put back together

Hello you mentioned the trigger is an easy fix. So you have any tips on getting the trigger smoother? New to air guns and Pp750 is my first pcp.

I was wondering why that old post came up,like Sept.2020.....Since you are new I will say that after hundreds of pellets all air guns get smoother.

There are two very small Allen screws that you can adjust ,,both under the trigger,...take the right grip off , that makes it easier to see and adjust.

The spring is really too strong for a light pull....I would leave it alone for now.......after you become more acquainted with your pistol you could cut a few small coils off,also polish the rubbing surfaces...

A easy fix would be a lighter spring...unfortunately I do not know where to get one,maybe someone will help us out...

Thanks. That sounds good. I have the tools needed to polish everything up really nice from working with steel to mirror shine. I’ll give all rubbing parts and run a few hundred pellets through as you mentioned. I would ideally not like to clip any springs as I don’t have the knowledge with these things to ensure a good turnout but if it’s still tight I maybe able to find a lighter spring or cut a replacement (that way I keep the original parts untouched). Thanks for your input.

,One other thing I did not mention is to de-gas your pistol when working on it,just a safety reminder...I take mine down to around 1000psi when I am Just taking the grip off to adjust the trigger....When going into the pistol itself take all the air out of it.



Mine is .177,it is pellet picky,found out that JSB 10.34 GR. work great.I have the Canada model .You have to see what pellet your pistol likes.

It is a combination of the right pellet,sight picture ,trigger pull....sometimes takes time to get it all right...training a dog sort--of-thing,LOL.Good journey Edgar.
