Got my R5M .177 4 days ago and have been shooting it alot! I originally bought it to try and shoot slugs through it. While the NSAs do shoot fairly well from it I decided no more slugs for me. Just wanted consistency in accuracy plain and simple. After a good 350 pellets through the gun I found what works best for this gun. From Brian the gun came with a 125bar reg pressure. Maxed out was pushing the 13.43gr monsters at 970fps. Alittle too hot for what I wanted but wanted to test best accuracy. So dropped fps about every 15fps until about 815fps. Groups shined here with a few fliers here and there. Did well with 10.34gr at this tune also. So dropped my reg to in between 80-85bar. Here's what it'll do now at 50yds with the RD monsters. This is what I was looking for consistent accuracy with no fliers. She's ready to pest now! Setup with an Athlon Midas Tac 4-16x44 and UTG Big Bore Full Stability bipod. This gun can shoot! All groups are 5 shot except bottom right which is 10 shots. All shot consecutively. What I love is at this setting it's so docile and my cross hairs don't move when pulling the trigger love it!

Thanks guys! Yeah it's quite a good shooter. I was shocked at what it was doing. I've had some good groups with it but most the time had one shot off out of a 5 shot group and I knew it wasn't a pulled shot or anything. But once it started pulling those groups I had to see if those weren't a fluke and I think with 30 consecutive shots like that I feel confident to say that if I miss at 50yds then it was me. And like Mike stated very quiet, very smooth shooting no muzzle flip yet still a nice pop on the birds. Used to think going bigger caliber and faster fps was better for pesting but have since totally reversed that and am enjoying this 20fpe .177 and then will be getting my well missed Leshiy back from @zx10wall the end of the week tuned to 810fps with the .22 Hades and have all my pesting needs covered! If I need more I'll grab my Tikka T1X .22lr lol.

And to others just to clear up these are the Redesigned Monsters 13.43gr and the groups were at 50yds.

Yes, I'm moving in that direction for hunting inside of 100 yards also. Just for s&^%s and giggles, I shot an EBR target at 100 yards. I did that Sunday with my .177 Crown and RD Monsters at 820 FPS in breezy conditions, and only shot one 10 shot target. All inside the 7 ring, 8 of ten inside the 8 ring. Very surprising how well they handled the swirling wind. I have the gun zero'd at 30 yards, so my holdover was between 19 and 20 MOA... ;) It was cool since at that speed with a good scope you can see them dropping in to the target...

Congrats on the new toy amigo !

I have the gun in .22 and absolutely love it...

Just my findings, and may be part of your occasional fliers , i did find when going through the tuning stages that it took a little over 500 shots for the factory regulator to settle in , and i did clean the hell out the barrel right out of the box 

I damn near went to the Huma Regulator , and i am glad they were out of stock , so i was forced to shoot through it ... The factory regulator is a very good unit once it settles in....

Anyway , great shootin' and have fun with it !

I will be testing this out hopefully soon at 100yds soon also. We'll see how it does. 

Realistically for me pesting distances are mostly from 15-60yds with some maybe out to 75-80yds max with pigeons being my largest target. If accuracy holds up out to there this will be a perfect fit. 

Mine has the Edgun regulator which in my experiences seem to do very very well on a whole. I've seen no need to go Huma. Nor do I think Humas are the absolute best regs out there. What I do see a Huma benefitting is if you need the extra plenum space for a higher power shooter or better efficiency or something like a sub 12fpe reg for the Leshiys. But the plenum size on the Edgun reg is a really good size for the .177 and .22. And likely the .25 if you want to use kings or similar lighter pellets. The Huma I think would have too big of a reg for the .177s though if wanting to shoot in the lower 20fpe or below power levels.

Yeah for a situation like that I'd say if it's needed go for it! I put a Huma in a super long .30 I had and at 80fpe had the reg set at 100bar or something I liked it for that!

Ok boys all I can say is this gun can hold a group long range. I took out multiple collared dove in a row. I'm not gonna say my guesstimate range yet cause I'm still shocked and unsure as I didn't have my range finder with me. But I believe it was well over 100yds.... gotta mow first then head back to the dairy with the range finder to confirm. I'll say this I'm not gonna touch the tune in the gun ever now.

Great results. Good adjustments and great shooting.

For pesting with the .177 EDgun I have landed on using the Baracuda Hunter pellets. They fly like 10.34s within 65ish yards but dump their energy very well. They do have a POI shift from 10.34s beyond, but Strelok is my friend and they stay stable at longer distances.

Totally agree with your statements on the reg. Only reason to go Huma on a .177 EDgun is if one wants 28+FtLb or so. Personally I love them at not more than 18-20. Seems to be great for pesting and minimizes pass thru damage issues. Besides... just incredibly pleasant to shoot as you said👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
