My broken rifle that I first tried to sell for parts, then buy parts to fix from others here, then decided I would try and repair the unobtainable needed part, then found a thread on here with ideas about making a spring compressor which I did today and reassembled the rifle with the silver soldered part... is back together and working as it should. Thanks to everyone here that talked me into the route I took, I seriously considered chit canning it but for the $17.00 bucks for silver solder/paste I now have it in the stall with the others. A guy can't have too many $100.00 guns kicking around, you never know you'll need one

Congrats on getting a fix for your Ruger Impact Max, I have to give you credit for being persistent in keeping it alive in posts if not in a closet somewhere, if it had been mine I'd have likely used it as a wall hanger in my man cave.
Now you've peaked my interest to know if the repair is going to hold up to continued firing, please keep us informed.
I've had mine for about three years now, I replaced the junk bundled scope with a UTG Bug Buster scope and tamed the trigger with the help of one of our members and a new spring not long after I purchased it, It's actually been a great air rifle, and it shoots as good as it looks.

I will be sure to let others know how my repair hold up, right everything is as it should be. I was seriously considering it as a canoe paddle...however, I don't give up easy, it doesn't always end up this well either

Thanks again to all who contributed to this situation. After careful examination of the break I believe it was a one off issue with my rifle, I don't believe it is an common problem with the design, just a flaw in mine.

Just an update, I hope I'm not jinxing myself. I've spent some time with my Ruger in the past few of days and yesterday a friend came to visit that has a rifle exactly like mine that was bought within a week of mine, He is an older gentleman and found that after he purchased his he couldn't cock the rifle without much trouble, fired a handful of pellets through it, put it in the closet and forgot about it...until yesterday, he showed up at my place with it. We spent the afternoon shooting splatter targets and spinners. Since repairing mine I've put conservatively approx. 400 to 500 pellets through, it works perfectly and as it should, as well as his practically new rifle does except his is still stiff like new $150.00 rifles can be, while mine is smoother to operate. I'm going to go ahead and say this is a successful repair, if it doesn't hold up to the test of time , I'll report back then for now I'm putting this one to bed.

The Ruger repair is still holding up well, I'm convinced now that it is better than it was originally. If anything changes I'll let it be known here.
