My Shelden Kidde compressor has finally arrived

Came in this sturdy crate:

Heres what it looks like. A little glare, we finally have SUNSHINE. We have been cold and overcast for a month. Very unusual for us in the southwest but looks like I will finally get out to shoot!

I have moved a month and a half ago and I am embarrassed to say I still have not installed a 220v socket. I have been in and out of town with little time to even shoot. I just had an electrician out to give me a quote to rewire my garage and to put in a 220v socket. Looks like I will have to put in a sub panel as there are no remaining breakers. Hope to have it up and running soon; I am even farther to my fill center. If you read AJ's post, he has had his for a year and no problems. I have never read anything negative on this compressor.

I bought the very last one. He may have some larger units available and may be offering a different motor. He is now offering a Noah Howden Compressor with a 5 Hp motor producing 6.0 CFM. It is listed for $3500. I am assuming that this is another military compressor. The price point puts it with with the Daystate but may be a longer lasting unit.

Well…... the electrician finished, sorta, and I was still not able to fire up the compressor because he was too lazy to get the right outlet plug . I Contacted Jim Shelden and he sent me out the right receptacle plug and got it in TWO DAYS (at no charge). Installed it myself and was………. almost up and running. Had a slight leak at the relief valve. Another call to Jim and he told me exactly what to do to fix the problem and finally…….. filled my tank for the first time. My Airhog tank was already at 4,000 psi but had to test it anyways. Took about 4-5 mins (didn't really time it) to get my tank to 4,500 psi. I expected it to be alot louder, it's about the same volume as a shop compressor.
Air freedom at last!
I highly recommend dealing with Jim Shelden. He is honest man and was willing to help me get my compressor up and going.
Thanks Jim

I have an Airhog 88 CF tank. There appears to be a small leak from the moisture release valve which should be corrected by my next fill. Jim is sending out a delron fitting to stop the leak (at no charge). I am expecting the fill time to be around 15 min to fill from 3500-4500. AJshoots has the same compressor and is averaging that amount of time to fill his tank.
