Sheridan My Sheridan Blue Streak...

Hi guys, Here is my Blue Streak that I found at a gun show this summer. It shoots good, but I dont like to shoot it!
Here's why... Look at my trigger. Compared to the other guns in pics I see, my trigger is different & very uncomfortable.
It looks like its up too far in the stock and should be down further, and its much further forward and curved more than others Ive seen. Its too small and I cant get my finger in it easily. My fingertip rests on the point of the trigger end and feels terrible. This gun's serial numbers are in a different location and are different, must be a late model. I hate this uncomfortable trigger so much that I want to take it out, bend it, and take some of the curve out of it.

Nice rifle!

Looking at mine, the end of the trigger is about a quarter-inch from the guard. Yours is apparently bent. It's not a big deal to pull the action out of the stock and re-bend the trigger to where it should be.

Luck,

J~

I thought it was different... I will definitely straighten it out some then. I read somewhere that the trigger could be adjusted bu moving a spring?

Last night I took the trigger out & straightened it out to my liking. I also replaced the trigger spring w/lighter spring I had found. Trigger is now at 1.5lbs.

I never liked how the bolt pulled back-was always notchy, scratchy, and hi-effort. Not sooth at all. I took the bolt & hammer out and happy I did.
Thge bolt had some scratches , the bolt cover & tensioner were badly bent, the tiny bolt spring & ball are missing, and the screw that engages the hammer is beat to hell! Im amazed this thing chambered a pellet at all. Now where in the hell am I going to find these parts? I cant even date the gun,,, the number on it is totally different and in a different place than the older Streaks Ive seen. I have the Sheridan Blue Book and the date ID is vague, maybe 80's? gun has number 544645.

Glad to see you making progress with it. They're really good guns. Especially with the peep sight!

I'd measure the hole for the ball and find a bearing a little smaller than that size. A hobby store might have them and a spring. Mac-1 probably would, but I don't know if Tim has the site/shop back up yet.

This site lists serial numbers, but they end before yours. https://keenanalysis.weebly.com/blog/sheridan-blue-streak-serial-numbers I'd think that it's an '86 or '87.

Good luck,

J~
