As a matter of interest, why did you narrow it down to those two? What were your criteria?

The thing that changed the most for me between my first and second PCP rifle was my concern about the weight and balance. PCP rifles can feel very front heavy so if you shoot off-hand when hunting there are some air guns to avoid.

I have a Regal XL 22cal. It's a great gun, simple to work on if needed, good looking, very accurate and really fun to shoot. It just fits in your hands very comfortably. It probably could of been classified as a carbine. It'll give you a nice shot string with the "sling shot" hammer by taking the bounce off the valve. I'd say if your concerned about any trouble you might run into with a regulated gun it would be great gun for you. If your not worried about those possible issues then I think the R10 would be a great option. Similar in stature to the Regal but with the added luxury of the regulator. My other three guns are regulated and I won't buy another PCP that's not regulated from the factory.

I've been following the post on the R10 by LDP and have no doubt that after reading his review and experience so far that it would be a great gun. I actually thinking about selling off my least shot PCP and trying the R10.

Another gun on the horizon is the FX Streamline that's supposed to be on the market in the very near future. It'll have the smooth twist barrel, be regulated, side lever and some where around $1000. Very tempting as well.

Good Luck
