My Wild Cat was a lot of fun today

First I would like to thank the folks at the Arlington Sportsman Club I had a very warm welcome and a lot of fun and support. For those in the region looking to getting into field target, I would highly recommend attending one of their matches.

The only gun I have that will go down to the 20 FP was my FX WildCat, and I wanted to know how it would perform anyway so it got to go on the trip with me. The Shoot had two Standing Lanes that my FX Exelled at and shooting off sticks was not an issue. The gun 100% outshot me, I learned very quickly that there is very little wiggle room when shooting through a pill size hole.

The most important aspect of the whole day was I had a blast and learned a lot not only about my gun and the sport but about myself and my current abilities

I am hooked

So, what score did you finish with ?

I just today, finished making a range card and marking my new comma wheel so I’m about ready to go! Jeff does a great job and shooting with the Texas guys is a lot of fun. I’ll be shooting my WC for the first time this year in HFT. I know there are naysayers who scoff at FT with bullpups for a variety of reason. Mine is every bit as accurate as my BSA R10 if not more so. And shooting it off hand and kneeling is a lot easier.

If Oklahoma City (actually Arcadia) is not to long a haul for you, the club there will start possibly as early as next month. I’ll be there on a regular basis as it’s only a two hour drive for me.

Glad to hear you had fun and see you at a match soon.

Willie14228, Nothing embarrassing about your score ! At this point your learning the game, gun, ranging, scope, shooting from sticks, and and and. Field Target has a bit of a sharp learning curve. The most important thing is you had fun !

I have not been able to get to Arlington for a while to much going on with life and family, but I am hoping to get things figured out so I can shoot more matches this year. I hope you stick with your plans of doing some things here in East Texas. Would be great to get with some like minded guys and do some FT practice matches.

Congratulations on your first match !
