AEA My Zeus is not charging air- anyone with thoughts why that may be?

Hi guys

i shoot my new zeus (its the german version with internal regulator) twice and wanted to remove the reg completely to get the full power unregulated but after removing the reg and just leaving everything empty the pump is not charging the cylinder.

there was also a silver part that seems to be a replacement for the regulator so i put that in first but it would not charge- i tried this first...

after it would not charge i removed the silver part and tried without anything in the reg housing (just a big, empty hole) but it would still not charge.

so i finally put the damn regulator back in the way it was (but not sure if exactly same as there are little holes in the reg and i am not sure if they need to face a certain direction?) but i opened the reg counter clockwise to get more then the original 150bars that were set on it- with regulated 150bars on the reg i got around 800j but wanted to get the unregulated 1600j) but its not even charging with the factory reg back in place..- maybe i put it in not right but don't know how it should or must be..

now wondering what i did wrong or broke?

i had to remove the 2 manometers to degas the cylinder and later the plenum which i later screwed back in but don't notice air escaping through the gages..

i do not see any air escaping through the charging nipple

it seems like the air is not going in but its not the compressor because i tested on my fx dreamline and it charges

maybe some of you with zeus had the cylinder off and could make a photo for me to show me how it looks inside

or maybe someone knows where the problem lies with zeus not charging at all??

thanks for any input

Are you cocking it before trying to fill it?

I don’t have one but I’m assuming there is a huge spring pushing on the hammer weight and holding the valve open just enough to not seal.
yes! you must be right because i was reading up on this issue entire night and will try again today but this time with the gun cocked..

i was not cocking (did not know that i need to after degassing to zero) so it would not seal..

it also helps to give it shoot of air from a big tank but i don't have one so will try to use my compressor

If cocking during fill doesn't help, find the leak. On my compressor I need to shove the hose down a little before it'll pressurize the hose and seal. After that it's a game to find where it vents. Try holding your finger over the barrel. Both ends if the bolt is open.

It's easier with a tank, the rushing air is loud and easy to feel for. Troubleshoot from there. My Zeus .72 is easily the most elegant and low part count PCP gun I own.

thank you Friend

i have not tried it yet- will do later today... it seems like i have the german version with internal regulator- you have a different usa version- simpler..

did you ever take the air cylinder off or would you be willing to degas and take a picture of the inside of the part 41 - not sure if you would call it plenum, i guess.. its the part where the cylinder screws onto and where the gauge and fill hole sits (part 41 from the blue print)

i would love to see how different (if at all) it is from my part41 which houses the regulator..

you are the best- it did the trick! i was in poland and was able to test it to fullest potential..

i don't know how many joules with 300bar but i shot through a thick propane gas bottle so it is mega strong :D

How do you owners of the Zeus like them? They look Awesome!
i love mine!

i thought i broke it because it would not charge after degas but all i had to do i cock the gun to back up the hammer spring- that's all

after that the valve sealed and i pumped it to 300bar and demolished the propane tank- see the pics

gun is simple and very precise- it puts my fx to shame :ROFLMAO:

and the power is intoxicating

Cool waiting for a guy to pay me back sent him 550.00 never shipped and
Will post him if he doesn't get back to my text! Scammer I guess!? sent me a Hunderd back sounds like I am Getting Burned!
yes- you might have gotten screwed...

set him a deadline, lets say friday and if he does not pay back and time is up then report him on the forum...
