Had a chance to shoot some 100 yard EBR paper targets today with the FX Boss .30 and also shot some recent N50 50 yard targets with my Anschutz 64 MPR .22 LR. Wind was light today, and was also light with the N50 cards as well. The Annie always shoots well, and with Midas+, CenterX, Lapua Long Range or Eley Match -- I can get some great cards.
Sure as heck like shooting the RF for score at 50Y, but the 100 yard EBR with the FX Boss and 44g was tough and is "always " humbling. No complaints ( or excuses ) as my 100 yard shooting technique and wind reading needs a lot of work with both the Boss .30 and the EVOL Paradigm .30 ( not shown here). The Boss jumps a bit, and I need a firmer shoulder hold to steady her down. I rotated one shot per bull until I shot all 25 shots. Should have taken a couple sighters as well. The Boss is an excellent 50 yard shooter, and in the right hands at 100 yards, I think she can do better with a competition shooter that knows what he/she is doing.
How much for lessons?
Makes me really appreciate those recent "outrageously" high RMAC 100Y bench rest scores which were shot this year!! Unimaginable skill involved, and they all had a lot of wind one of the days anyway. I know the final round was a bit less windy, but does not diminish the skill for those high scores! Wowzer.....
