N50 at 100 “In The Rings” Slug Challenge

I had time to go to the range and give this a try with pellets indoor
Skout Epoch with JTS 22.07g pellets
a couple of headscratchers on 13 and 16
only 3 on #18 and 4 on #19, but still a decent row
i think the top scored at 2200 :D..i know..i know ..it's indoor

Excellent!

Seven out of ten bulls ( boxes) scored 400 or better. What velocity Mike?

I have tried to like those 22 gr aea and jts...but their clear deficiency in the wind compared to the monsters, grands, and beasts make it tough. If they were more accurate than the other more wind resistant choices....I guess I could be swayed....maybe.

Good to know.

I have 4 tins on the way from PYA. A friend of mine (EPG) has good luck with them for the 30 & 40y target challenges we both shoot. They are very accurate for these short distances.

I think the relatively light 22g will struggle in any wind at 100y.

What's the score if the target was a EBR100, must be close to 247 using plugs??
I'm not certain on the plugging, but i figure that a hit inside the "grey" ring or touching the 9 ring on the N50 would score a 10 on EBR
A shot touching the outer ring on the N50 would score a 9 on EBR
The N50 box's outline would be an 8
#20 is the one that is too close to call and #4 is a 9 ..I'd say a 248-249
when a .22 is used

Four years ago I was complaining that it'd be impossible to ever get a 250 on a EBR card at 100Y because it was designed for 75Y and now look what can be done using the latest Thomas, higher BC 30 cal pellets, and well Mike's shooting helps too!
Steve...that was slugs. Shooting this with slugs is pretty easy and repeatable, nowadays.

Shot lots of mid 240s with 30 cal pellets though....and so have others. Even mid 240s with 22 pellets. Both Irwin and Jeffrey have done the same. Getting it to happen on demand is different with pellets.

Ah okay I got confused.

Here's 22 Fx MRDs at 100 yesterday before the slug attempt. Was holding up to a couple bulls to the right most shots. I'm guessing that's like a 238 or 239. The degree of skill needed to shoot 22 monsters comparably in the wind at 100y compared to the 50gr 30 cal is probably at least double. Maybe more.

Steve, check out Mike’s post #297. These groups were shot at 100 with 50.1 g AEA pellets and a Thomas .30. So, your observation is right on. These would be very good ( if scored) on EBR targets and even better with RMAC.

All that said, look at his wind holds too. Therein lies the challenge.

I bet you'll shoot the first unofficial scaled EBR100Y 250 using those 30 cal pellets this year after this crazy wind season is over with.

A 245 is a pretty long way from a 250. I really don't shoot 100y enough to put the long odds in my favor. It's probably easier to shoot a 250 25x with slugs at 50....but it's never happened. 24x,23x.....sure. But those are so rare that asking for one more is a big ask.
