N50 cards with .22 Anschutz 64 MPR

Tom, This will make you cry ... My Bergara loves Norma Tac 22, which is a mere $3.99 / box. I shot three 2500's last year in ARA matches with it. Guys at our club shooting Ten X, Midas Plus, Center X, R50 and others were just floored.
I am in awe that your Bergara shoots Tac22 that well. I’ll get a good row or two with Tac22 and then I’ll get a real flyer. I stupidly bought some of the of the target version of the Norma .22 and that actually shoots worse at 3 times the cost of the Tac. My MTR seems to like CenterX the best.

Yep In rimfire chasing ammo that preforms well in your particular rifle ( the Holy Grail) is difficult and expensive. It is not even always consistent in the high end stuff either . all one can do is to keep searching. When you find a particular lot that your unit likes then you have to try and get as much of that one lot as you can. 9 times out of 10 the next lot of that particular brand/ type won't work for you. The big boys/gals in the game will buy cases ( ya 5000 rounds) of a particular lot at a crack. There have been many discussions ( some fatalistically in depth with in put from MFGs as well) about this over the years and yet there is still no answer. Besides the variables that are some what controllable by ourselves, there is mother nature and the base componets used by the MFGs themselves. You have variables in the metallurgy right up front, then the priming compound, then the powder. I remember a problem with one of the major high end suppliers in the cases, brass was a bit too hard resulting in missfires. took awhile for that to get sorted out.

After reading this, my head hurts. I had heard that before from a good friend. “ if you find a lot that you like, by a “lot” of it!
😃

On top of that, if you got to the Lapua test center, when you find a lot your rifle shoots best, they limit how much ammo you can buy. It’s a vicious cycle.
It doesn’t make sense to limit ammunition purchases for those that take the time to to get a rifle tested. Additionally, I find it difficult to learn much on the bench shooting low grade ammunition and the mid grade stuff like SK rifle match is inconsistent in my rifles.

Thought I would shoot 1 card today I haven’t shot a N50 card in quite awhile or the gun for that matter! I can’t load the video of the winds? “Maybe someone can give some pointers!” Anyway it was challenging gusting up to 14mph it definitely wasn’t a great score but I just couldn’t read the wind today? All in all I’m not really that disappointed I know it was me not the gun so I can work on me but I don’t like when you’re second guessing you and your gun/tune!
I’ll take it, a honest card with unfavorable conditions. Card scored a 229-5x
I finally got the vid to load by cutting off 20sec. Of footage! I’ll try and load full video it’s a much better representation of conditions
