N50 cards with Annie 64 MPR .22 LR

It was a beautiful morning here in NC. We are supposed to hit a record warm temp today of 87 degrees, but not quite ready for summer here either.

Range conditions:
65 degrees at 9:40am
Wind with Kestrel at bench - 3-6 mph, tail winds and right to left at times

I went to my local outdoor range and shot (2) N50 50-yard cards today, and (1) this past Monday with my Anschutz 64 MPR. Tried out some new ammo also from Lapua - "Lapua Long Range 40G" which is their new ammo for .22 Rimfire. As I could not find Center-X anywhere online and "in stock," so I wanted to try this out with some scoring cards. I actually used a tail wind "wind call" for much of my shooting. My holds were anywhere from 1pm on the 9 ring; and at 3pm between 8 and 9 ring at times. I tempted fate twice with a "248 and a 249," but could not get that elusive "250."

Shot a 244-165X N50 card on Monday. I should point out that this past Monday, the wind was very light, and still most of the time. I wish I had that same wind today. :)

I wonder if that ammo is the same as SK Long Range since they are the same company? Nice chootin BTW Tom.

Thanks Tim.

I did a quick Google search but could not definitively confirm/ deny if they are the same. I know Lapua recently came out with two new lines; Lapua Long Range and Super Long Range. So far, the 64 MPR likes the long range.

Candidly, it shoots the CenterX, Eley Match and Eley Tenex all pretty well. I would love to find a box of RF ammo for around $5 that can shoot as well as these expensive alternatives. 😉

Three more cards this week with the 64 MPR. The Lapua Long Range is really good. I just purchased a brick of the Super Long Range and will give that a try in a week or so.

If you look closely at the cards below, I was using a wind hold for a right to left with slight wind, and also a tail wind at times. I was holding on my 9 ring at 3 or 4 o'clock at times, but that was not enough and blowing my pellet to the left. I was catching the 10 ring, but just nicking the line or almost nicking the line. I circled some of the bulls with those holds.

I had to finally adjust my hold between the 7 and 8 rings at the same 3/4 o'clock. Once I held between 7-8 rings, I was getting some more X's and better 10's. For me, this would be exponentially more difficult at 100 yards. My scope doesn't have enough magnification for my eyes at 100Y on the MPR.

Gun: Anschutz 64 MPR, bull barrel - .22 LR
Scope: Sightron S-TAC 4-20X.50MM
Ammo: Lapua Long Range 40G
Temp: Warm
Wind: Light, 1-3 mph
Two Flags
Distance: 50 yards

We ALL wish we could shoot like that with airguns........

It takes very specialized equipment and lots of time put in, to replicate those rimfire scores that you posted, with an airgun.
GREAT shooting man, and thanks for explaining what was going on during your card. All those little details helps everyone else along!

Agree Chuck, and thanks!

Re. Wind reading: I do also enjoy when others share details about the conditions when shooting their cards; whether the end results are good or not so much. Mike N and Mike B immediately come to mind along with many others.
