Great shooting as always Ricky !

Question, was the GF1000 barrel included with the $1,100 GCMAG Gen2 rifle, or is it something that you added?

If added, how good was the original barrel?

Thanks Ed.

The GF1000 barrel is an add on and is already included in the $1,100 price. The nice thing about the GCMaG Magnums (Gen 1 & 2) is you can slap on 16mm OD barrels from .177 to .25 cal max. You also have the option to change the BR stock to a sporter stock for hunting and an aluminum chassis.

I have another GCMAG Magnum Gen2 on order with two prototype barrels for me to test and give my feedback to the maker. So far exporting the GCMAG units abroad is still on process (export license) and CNC machines are needed to make production faster.

I’ll inform you if there are any updates.

Ricky....I trust you understand that the utility value of 18gr pellets for 50y/m competition expired back in 2017 or so. While 18gr pellets can be very accurate...they drift nearly double the 22 jsb monster and fully twice that of the
grand...making them ineffective for 50m competition in anything but near windless environments.

Of course, that's even a moot point now that WRABF 50m competition is promoting slug use. A good 40gr slug will have about 6x the wind resistance of the lowly 18gr pellet with equal accuracy. So while the slug guys are still holding on the 10...the 18gr pellet guys will be outside the rings in the same wind at 50m. I suppose a pellet shooter can hope that no wind blows during the competition....but that's probably a 1 in a million chance.

There are multiple countries that have very capable slug guns for 50m now.

Since you are a strong proponent of the wrabf vs N50...I would have guessed that you knew this.

Will you be attending the world championship match in Finland this August?

Hi Mike. Sad to say but we’re still stuck in 2017 and below era. Up to now we are only allowed to use 18+gr pellets max for BR50 and slugs are also not allowed. I’ve been giving my 2 cents worth of advice since 2018 that we should follow WRABF rules and no one seems to listen.

One major problem of ours is no store sells imported slugs and it is illegal for us individuals to import anything related to airguns (slugs, pellets, scopes, bipods, etc.) without a permit to import. We have resorted to swaging our own slugs which are 🤮🤮🤮 as well as swaging our pellets individually by hand due to the scarcity of imported pellets and slugs.

As for the world championships at Finland, the answer is no since I am not a member of PNSA (Philippine National Shooting Association) nor qualified to represent our country. I would love to go as a “lone wolf” if allowed. 😃

There are no airgun restrictions in the Philippines. The customers I have in the Philippines follow the wrabf rules. There is no limit on pellet weight or the use of slugs.

The limits you speak of must be imposed by whoever is putting on the matches you choose to attend. You should go shoot with the other guys. Those that make rules to purposely limit advancement to support their own equipment never go far outside their own little bubble. Stop supporting them. It will stunt your growth.

Completely true! I think I am alone in our province that wants WRABF rules to be enforced. All the rest want tailored games suited for whatever equipment and ammo they have.

Anyway, I foresee a better future since shooters (in our province and region) slowly opening their eyes and minds to world standard competition but it will take some time. For the meantime I’me stuck with their rules except for BR25 HV using WRABF rules.

Thanks for the input Mike.
