Hello,

Could you please clarify what “factory” barrel for the Sportsman Slug Air Class means. Does it mean barrels that come along with the PCP unit when sold or can aftermarket barrels be used? For example I had an FX Crown with a FX Superior Slug liner but decided to install a Lothar Walther barrel instead. Is that allowed?

Are muzzle brakes and harmonic tuners allowed to be installed on the barrel?

It means 100% factory built rifle. Every component has to be manufactured by the factory selling it. Similar to the new Factory class, but price has no limit.

good luck with that with companies like Skout and their 100 different barrels, leaves the door wide open for any barrel on the market.
Does not seem like much if any takers at 50 yards from manufactures. Their interest lies at 100 and beyond just from what you read and see what is being posted especially with these big events.

There is but the fact they use barrels from every high end manuf just means it’s not quite as a level playing field as say other manuf is all.

Skout Airguns’ Pro Shooting Team Member Tim Swan has announced and posted on several facebook groups that he will be using his Skout Epoch with a 25” LW Hybrid Bull Barrel which is not a factory barrel. Was he allowed to compete in the Sportsman Slug Air Class using the aftermarket Lothar Walther barrel, was his equipment not inspected or was he disqualified?

The LW barrel Tim is describing in that post is indeed a Factory barrel. It is a LW barrel, made specifically for Skout, and offered from the factory on our rifles. Your drop down screenshot describes this specifically, as it shows you can buy this exact barrel from the factory.

Luke, with all due respect, I don’t know what barrel Tim bought his rifle with, only he or possible you know that information? Even though the LW barrel is offered as an option from Skout, it is my interpretation of the N50 rules if the OEM barrel that the rifle originally came with was swapped for any other optional barrel, then that barrel swap would put that rifle into the pro class.

Knowing Tim, I assume that he knows and understands that rule.

Keep your eyes on him from now on and don’t assume the he knows/understands every rule.
