Tuning Need advice for tuning on Zoraki HP-1/Webley Alecto

Hi Lads, I just ordered a Zoraki Hp-1 Webley Alecto in .177, normal version (no longer barrel) cause I want to stay with something small.

I plan to put 3D designed grips instead of the default competition style handle to cut a little more overall length, and I wonder if I can modify the gun to ram up the power.



The normal version limit is 3 pumps, on some sites they say the manufacturer only recomends 2, but I asume that is an english translation error of the instructions, cause in my native languaje part of the users manual it states 3 instead.

The ultra versión can take 4 pump from default, but I was unable to found if there are any differences at all besides the longer barrel.

There seems to be a tensor screw inside the valve that adjust the max pressure release point, so the mod is pretty easy.

The answer seems simple, just turn that screw the right way and then you have the 4 pumps on the non ultra version... Problem is... are they really the same internally? they look like it to me, but maybe they aren't and I'm gonna damage the gun.

I woldn't be disapointed if I can't increase the power, but I can do it safely, I want to.

There may be a point of dimimishing returns. They are too Dang hard to pump as-is.

Here you go, they also have the 5.5 and ultra versions, their on Slovakia and I don't know if they ship to the States, charge me 23 Merkels to send it to Spain.

Me want one too! I tried to find one some years back but after many months of searching I gave up. So started looking more earnestly almost two years back and never found one that I was able to purchase. Been there a bit to late on a couple of forum classifieds and eBay sales as well. Have a P3 so really don't need one but still the want from the addiction is there when ever I see anything about one.

I have a couple that I shoot regularly (one modified and one stock) and a couple unopened in boxes (no, I don't want to sell any of them). For the one I modified, I disassembled and turned the valve bleed setting in fully and then turned to 1/8 turn open. It did gain some velocity if pumped 4 times but I rarely do that because it seems to stress the frame a lot. What I did notice is that the modified pistol holds 3 pumps fully after the adjustment whereas before the adjustment you could hear some bleed off at the end of the third pump. Practically, I see little realizable gain in changing the stock setting and plan to leave the unmodded ones in stock condtion because 4 pumps seems to really stress the polymer frame. But I like having it hold 3 pumps fully as it is just a bit of gain without seemingly major increase in frame stress. As to "too dang hard to pump" I'd say that is relative to the individual and I have no problem with it at all.

Now I feel bad again cuz they are the only shortcut I kept around about the Electo and I still missed them.

This is why I bought one with the longer barrel. Why stress the short barrel gun to do what the longer barrel does easily. The key is to not keep wanting. I haven’t touched mine. Where I have my trigger set, if I try 4 pumps, the gun goes off as you close it on the 4th pump. How do I know? My if a little is good then a lot must be better buddy tried it when we were shooting chipmunks. Fortunately he had it pointed in a safe direction.

Mine has NEVER done that with the few times I've done 4 pumps. And the longer barrel is fine, if someone wants such. I don't. I have rifles for that. The power level at 3 pumps is fine for a pistol. If more is needed, rifles are available.

I'd suggest getting to know your Zoraki before attempting to modify it. I think you will find it a pleasure to shoot, with one pump at 10m targets, or two or more pumps for pesting or longer range target shooting or just blasting cans. I've put many thousands of rounds through mine (.177 Ultra) and it has been perfectly reliable and very accurate (and it has a great trigger). Enjoy!
